LUNDSTRAM AGENT SAME AS DUFFY'S

It is believed that Lundstrams has the same agent as Duffy and is trying to exert more money out of the Blades then they are prepared to offer.Now I understand it is the agents job to look after his players interests but may be Lunny should have a word with Duffy and how it as affected his career .This agents actions did nothing but damage to his players career.Duffy must be regretting his agents actions.

Different company – he’s with Unique Sports Management, which represents amongst others Brooks, Adams, Norwood, Osborn, Bryan. Wasserman is Lundstram’s, which also represent Moore and Callum Robinson. This is all if transfermarkt is to be believed...

Football got it wrong 30+ years ago, the work the agents do the PFA should have covered and wrapped it up in the mid/late 80s
 
IF no agreement was reached and Wilder listed him,who do we think would come in for him,and how much would we get for him..bearing in mind we have a 12 month extension we could use ?
 
To be fair to Lundstrum he’s in a strange situation.

Lets say most of his career he’s been one of the better players in league 1 on £4K a week.
We give him the opportunity to ply his trade at Championship level and give him £6K a week.
In general he hasn’t quite been up to average Champiomship level....and looked just a good league 1 player.

He gains promotion with us and is now on equivalent £10K a week due to the promotion bonus.

Surprisingly he’s upped his game and looks pretty impressive at PL...however most of the time it’s when he’s sub..he offers fantastic energy and changes the game.
When ever he’s started he’s been decent but no where near as effective.

Uniteds stance is probably he’s done well....and could be a proper PL player...so let’s double his wages to £20K a week.
His agents stance is “average PL players“ get £40K a week....and his player have proven he can make an impact at this level.
The agent has probably received interest from other clubs....so knows Lunny can get £40K elsewhere.

However us Blades and Wilder know Lunny...he’s only performed well for 6 months and could easily be a 1 season wonder.
I still don’t know if Lunny is the real deal....he wasnt that good in the Championship so this season could be a fluke/ one off.

Lunny isn’t a young player anymore and is probably thinking he doesn’t mind joining a club like West Ham on £50K a week.
He might struggle there and his career goes down hill but at least he’s made his money.

Put yourself in Lunny’s position.
would you rather have £20K a week playing for Sheff Utd with regular football (but probably as sub) or
recieve £50K a week playing for West Ham.where there’s a risk you‘ll be found out and hardly play.

Young players can afford to be patient but players like Lunny and especially the older Duffy (who would be relatively poor by footballers standards) probably think they need to strike whilst their stock is high regards earning a big pay day.

Perhaps another factor is we've just shelled out £22m for Berge, who initially took his place. Lundstram may be thinking that once Berge is up to speed, he may not get a game anyway.

I know Berge is supposedly more suited to the Norwood role, but can anyone honestly see us dropping Ollie anytime soon?
 
I've never written a football player's contract in my life but how hard is it to stick a buy out clause in there?
Lundstram gets a contract until HMS Rustbucket offer him 50 grand a week and United get 15 million quid when he leaves.
Better than the alternatives and nobody gets left in no mans land.
 
To be fair to him, Lunny’s stock is never going to be higher. This season has been an outlier for him in terms of games, goals and performance. It may not be repeated - especially given Berge’s arrival. He might be seeing the writing on the wall. Add to this, the whole Lord Lundstram fantasy stuff that has raised his profile considerably.
This might be his one opportunity to cash in on what for the most part has been quite an average career.
Depends if he thinks he’s good enough to stay and compete for a starting place, or if he backs himself to prove his worth at another Prem team. If he’s looking for a payday, it sounds like he won’t be getting that with United. But, given the doubt over his place in the first 11, you can’t blame him for exploring his options.

as an engineer I have worked for 48 years & I won’t have earned 2 years at that rate

You’re not factoring in that United were receiving 1 million a year tv money for those years in league 1.
Then when we reached the Championship our tv income increased to a massive 6 million tv money every year.

The above is the budget we’ve been working with for years.
So imagine the budget setters within SUFC when they are now receiving an unbelievably high 120 million every year.

The entertainment industry is based on economics.
The more income the performers bring in....then logic suggests they deserve a significant share.
Appreciate it seems immoral but football has never been as popular....millions are happy to pay big sums to the industry.
