Halford and.....? :)

Sorry John, not getting involved in naming anyone. All that happens is that something changes at the last minute and you look like a WUM.

A couple of loans will be coming in, so Len will be happy being about to moan about them.

I'm only teasing.

I once "ITK" posted that we were in talks to get Michael Brown on loan. We genuinely were, but it never happened and I got to look like a two-hat. I also posted that we were replacing Hulse with a quality replacement, which was bang-on, at least in theory. Hendo has since made me look a two-hat again. :)

Thankfully my media source no longer tells me anything.

Ps - It's Bartley isn't it? ;)

Think you'll find that it isn't just Len who won't be over the moon that we'll be filling the team with loanees from day one again.

I think I mentioned a couple of loans not filling the team. Regardless of which Len will moan about.

If I was KB I would not be feeling to secure. The way the club have dealt with the Speed situation suggests he is just waiting in the wings to take over when KB falters. Dont put away the beating stick guys!

To be honest Bob i think Len has a right to moan about any loans this season, you can't hide the fact last year our squad was practically a loan squad, any supporter of a team which isnt actually theres has a right to moan the following season on a pretty shite performance the season before and more loan signings no matter how many even if its 2-3

Agreed!
Blackwell publicly stated that he was NOT reying on loans this year after last seasons experience!
The man cannot be trusted

I'll reserve judgement on the squad until the transfer window closes, but from what Bob was saying it's 2-3 loan signings. That's not really relying on loans is it?

But we aren't replying on loans.

Are you saying that we should have no loans whatsoever? If you are then that is fine as long as you are happy with the consequences in that you will be looking at nomarks as Len calls them from the lower leagues.

Personally I think 3 loan players would be sensible.

We already have Walton for the season - And paying him so by your calculations we are talking about another two maximum?

Not now he is crocked he needs replacing. People are also making far more of this paying him lark, it really is minimal and likely to be picked up by insurance. The only talk taking place is if he is best recovering with us or them seeing as they have no interest in retaining him next season.
A couple of first team loan players still wouldn't be relying on loans.

I do understand what your saying bob and i agree that noramlly one or two loans in sensible for a squad, however just after the amount of crap we had to sit and watch last year, i just feel that 2-3 loans will eventually turn into the same amount we had last season, and then we could all end up having to watch another dissapointing season :(

My money's on between 8 and 10 loan players over the season.

Really? How minimal is it? He cost Plymouth £500,000 plus - what wages do you think he is on?

Less than 2K a week, and I believe our management team think he has something. He has ability above our level, I don't think there is much doubt about that but his attitude has been incredibly poor. If we believe this is the case it might explain why we are doing our best to keep him for his rehabilitation.

If Dickinson's the one they had at Barnsley , he's another nomark
Well I'm sure you will be glad that he isn't coming. He has turned us down and is going to Preston instead on a permanent deal for 750K.
The best bit is you can hardly criticise us for failing to sign a no mark player, although I bet you find a way.

Potentially 3 coming in, so you'll have plenty to moan about.

So are you saying even no-marks won't come here anymore Bob??

Based on me and my son on the Kop, it takes 300 people like us to pay Walton's wages.

I wasn't against this signing as such. I do think people don't equate just how costly players are compared to the amount we as individuals pump into the club.

Dario Gradi had him at Crewe all last year and didn't come back for him what makes Blackwell think he's found something to work on when Gradi clearly didn't ?

But a nomark going for £750k yet we see Nosworthy as our saviour for £500k and we don't want to pay that much!

Nos' wage demands far outstrip Dickinsons. Nos is currently pulling 23K/week from Sunderland, how much of a pay cut do you think he will be willing to take?
Halving his wages would already put him up with our top guys in the new wage structure and would you agree to halve your wages? The Nos deal is far more expensive than Dickinson which is why either Sunderland need to drop the fee or it will be a loan.
