Not all that surprising really, the financial burden and health and safety issues regarding coved testing etc. Still no clarity regarding promotion and relegation decisions, but average points per game being discussed as an option.
Whether this now sets a precedent for Championship and Premier Leagues remains to be seen, but the pressure to follow suit will increase.

I believe they can finish the season because of course the tv revenue/gate recipet percentage is quite low compared to L1 & below

I was discussing this at work yesterday, L2 are ending the season & L1 might be heading the same way. but if they end the season which is probably the right decision. I don't see how L1 & below can start next season 2020/21, might have to delay Indefinitely. because if crowds aren't allowed clubs wont have any income which means the cant pay the wages of anyone & If they cant pay the wages the players wont be playing for free. that's before we get any of coronavirus issues. so you cant start a season know that their is extremely high chance most of the teams wont be able to complete the season without going bust. then that only brings these problems back around in 12 months because then what happen with results of the 10 teams that go bust & someone whose 17th could end up in play offs.

& then because obviously we have a pyramid. if L1 cant go on then can the championship go on & would it go on without relegation. because no one is coming up. but could championship start because would teams like Brentford, Preston, Millwall, QPR, Reading, Huddersfield, Wigan, Charlton, Luton & Barnsley survive with no crowds for a season

i seen Scotland are apparently on monday. going to crown Celtic as champions & relegated hearts. which we understand why but confusingly in a statement i heard on 5 live "it was so the season cluld start on schedule" amazed how naive leagues can still be. as the chance of restarting with crowds in August is surely zero. christmas 50/50 at best

because as i posted in detail above. i think very optimistically if more than 15-18 of 114 EFL & SPFL teams could survive a year with no crowd income id been surprised

There is a spare place in League 2 for next season after Bury's expulsion leaving League 1 with only 23 teams. Four go up to League 1 and three go down to League 2 so I expect Barrow will be in League 2

although they should because you cant have promotion without relegation but it might not be stevenage because macclesfield are facing a points deduction for unpaid wages apparently.

but then if they couldnt pay wages in normal times what hope do they have with no crowd income so could be 2 coming up & no one going down because macclesfield could go bust
