He's a proper footballer who has good close control and a bit of vision and flair. A different sort of player altogether to the departing single-figure legend-to-be. I'm delighted that Mr. Birch signed him. Will Hoof play him? That's the acid test [for Blacko]!

I don't think I've done anything wrong with his stats he's made 49 apps in total over 1.5 seasons(equivalent to just over a seasons worth of league games) and he's scored 19 goals in all competitions.

In my opinion that is very close to being prolifc and when you look at the other qualities he has, he could be a great addition although realistically he'll have to work hard to make the team.

How many games did Sharp start/play last season? He scored 15 goals. That's 4 less than him in ONE season.

So what does Boggy have that Billy doesn't

Sharps ratio is :

Rushden & Diamonds 16 games 9 Goals = 1.77
Scunthorpe - 82 (53) = 1.54
Doncaster - 33 (15) = 2.2
Sheff Utd - 53 (8) = 6.62

So other than in a Blades shirt (where he played right wing to fetch the ball for Beattie,) he's been prolific!

Take out United from his clubs and he's got a goal every 1.70 games

Even with his Blades record he's nearly got 1 in 2 over his career with 2.16 ratio.

If we'd played him in the correct position he'd be quality, but no, let's go buy a gyppo!

Daniel Bogdanovic has a slightly better ratio of 1.97 Scoring 103 in 203 appearances.

His best return was 31 goals in 28 games for Marsaxlokk (yep i haven't heard of them either!!) A little bit of digging and one of their most notable players is an English man called Jamie Pace http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamie_Pace. His biggest English club was Tooting & Mitchum.

I just feel it puts the standard of the players into perspective.

1 more thing, Bogdanovic has played 203 games at the age of 30. Sharp has played 19 games less on 184 and is also 6 years younger.

Bogdanovic's only "real" club he's played for is Barnsley

Yes but bogdanovic made a lot of appearances from the bench as at times he wasn't fully fit but just by having him on the pitch it gave barnsley a belief that they could score.

In terms of footballing ability, sharp is a long way behind bogdanovic but it seems that because billy is "one of the fans" it somehow makes him better.

Sharp has only succeeded when he's been the big name and wasn't good enough for united.

When comparing goalscoring records in this instance, I feel as though gpm is a much more true reflection of ability and contribution than gpg.

When you look into the details sharp has had a lot of 85-90 min apps where as boggy has had a lot of 65-80 apps, a few 90, some 45 and even a 1 min app yet in the gpg comparison a 90min app and a 1 min app are equal so it's an false stat.

I knew bogdanović was good but if my calculations are correct (feel free to verify them) then he's awesome and backs up my belief that he's a hugely talented and influential player and has much more to offer than sharp.
