Henderson’s loan

What a mess. I can understand Man Utds actions if they do, but makes a mockery of the term "Season Long Loan" also with us paying for the loan too.

They need to think carefully about this. If they recall him, it’s saying they’re scared of the Blades, that they don’t have the confidence in their team or manager to finish higher than us with sabotaging our season.

And the whole world will forever see them as ‘Manchester Shithouse’. Ole Gunnar Shithouse, the timid little boy, scared of little Sheffield United.

I like this spin but I'm sure they and a lot of people would just see it as sound tactics. If roles were reversed I can imagine a lot of people on here would be arguing that it'd be daft to loan a player that good out to a rival.

You say that, and I do agree it would look ridiculously timid, but then I think back to the reaction on here at the news we hadn’t opted to prevent Ryan Leonard from destroying us with his miraculous skill when we played Millwall following his loan...

They certainly would but how many ex Liverpool players are there in the media? How many shock jocks will look to make capital out of it? Imagine the likes of Durham taunting the Man U fans so they’ll phone up.

Man U don’t just sell their success, they sell their history, Munich, Busby, Best, Law and Charlton, their fans like to take the moral high ground over the newcomers like Man City and Chelsea. There will be a backlash, no doubt. They may feel they could just ride it out but once it’s done, it’s been done and they’ll never be able to undo it.
Football fans have very long memories.

One man doesn't make a team regardless of who he is.
Henderson's form for the last two seasons is perhaps more down to the excellent defence in front of him.
Don't get me wrong he's pulled of some great stops throughout his time with us but at some point we as a club need to move on if there's no chance of him becoming one of our own. UTB

Theoretically any club could recall any player to their parent club so bit of a nothing story just to highlight Henderson.

I agree Man U would be criticised if they went down this route. Equally I don’t think the fear of any criticism would stop them as it would quickly become yesterday’s news.

It certainly wouldn’t be in the spirit of the game given the unprecedented situation causing us to ask for an extension so again I suppose it boils down to how much this bothers them

It's a no brainer for Man Utd. If there's an opportunity, within your control, to significantly weaken a rival then do it. Its a business decision and the Champions League is worth an awful lot of money to them, as well as being crucial to their transfer business. Agree its shithousery but c'est la vie.

Provided they called back all their players on loan and were consistent we can't really argue, having said that I think it's a shithouse trick because he won't play a single game for them. I'd expect there would be no chance of a loan next season though

Ole does seem to generally do the right thing, let's hope that continues

Having Loan players are a Troubles waiting to happen
If Hendo has not bought into
Tufty’s management
Our fans love for him
And our clubs ethos
Then let him go find another club, or sit on Manures bench
Whilst we pick up a top class keeper, who wants to play for us
His choice

If they did recall Hendo imagine the capital Wilder will make of it. He would be telling the players that if Man Utd are so afraid of little ole Sheffield United then we must be REALLY good. It would be a real confidence boost to the players (if they need it) and could be the inspiration and additional motivation we need to claim that Champions League place. BRING IT ON. UTB

I'm not so brave, Dean Henderson Is a big part of why we are where we are, let's not think we can shove it up them without him, he's been incredible... Big player..

I agree mate.I don't want to agree but you can see where they are coming from. Can you imagine the flack in Manchester if we cost them 60million quid finishing above them whilst playing THEIR goal keeper.Do not think Hendo would be to happy going back there to watch games from the stands or on the bench.

Wouldn't shock me. Sensible business decision. However I hope any restart extends loans and contracts as it seems unlikely the season would be done by June 30th

Some of us saw this one coming

I don't think recalling him should be an option.

It's not in the spirit of the competition.

They loan him for the season and it is for the 36 matches he could play.

End of. They wouldn't be allowed to recall him with 10 games to go in the regular season.

He goes back at the end of the season. If they recall him now, then let us play the Villa away game in hand and end the season after 29 matches.

See how that suits them.

I wish you were right mate I really do but he was not loaned to us for 36 matches he was loaned to us until June weather he played 36 matches or just one.I am afraid 60 million quid out trumps the spirit of the competition to.It is dog eats dog when it comes to money in the Prem, the spirit of the game goes out of the window,as I said wish you were right but you are not.

I'd like to be more optimistic but I think most people would see it as the smart move. Don't get me wrong, it'd be blatantly taking advantage of a horrible situation and they'd get some bad press for it, I just don't see that bad press turning into any kind of material loss. Especially if it worked and they took a spot over us.

Hendersons last match?
It's actually a very valid point if man utd don't have to send him back in July then why would they if were in direct champions league place competition with them, you can talk about honour and integrity but I fear champions league money is probably bigger for some clubs
Keep up! This was 5 weeks ago!
