I challenge anyone (without checking) to give a memory of those games. Surely the dullest set of matches at Bramall Lane ever.
My only memory is the Carlisle game, where Barry Robson took so long to take a corner that the referee blew for half time.

Christ alive, I could have cheerfully hanged him for that. He was the only person in the ground who didn't know it was coming, we were all screaming at him to hurry up for what seemed like about 45 seconds.

Think it was the lull when Morgan took charge. He tightened the defence up but we also stopped scoring

I have no recollection of these games at all. I do have a memory of being furious at a player not taking a corner quick enough though now you mention it.

Fucking Crawley the bastards, I had a hunch it would be 0-0 (don't ask me why) and lost £20.

Was that the run of doom at home interspersed with ok games away leading up to Wilson’s sacking? I’m pretty sure that would have been around the time we got thrashed something like 4-0 at Stevenage too (not one of the ok games). I know I was furious with Robson at one game in particular – it’s either that or Walsall away.

I think the Crawley loss was the one where Billy Clarke scored from a short corner having not long left us from a brief loan spell.

And I remember the Robson corner but never would've remembered the game without prompting.

I can barely remember anything from that second season in League One, even though we were top and unbeaten for quite a while. I do remember the Yeovil defeat (lol) in the play-offs mind. Apart from that, it was literally a forgettable season.

I think that’s the thing – the Morgan spell was probably more memorable just because of how bad it was. I remember going to both the woeful Crewe and Pompey away games, but other than that was the McMahon double down at Crawley that season? Couldn’t tell you anything else about that season tbh.

Nick Blackman scored loads of penalties, Shaun Miller was looking promising but picked up a serious knock, the rest is a bit of a blur.

I remember the Crawley one as it was one of those games where season ticket holders could bring a mate for free. Brought a couple of non-United supporting mates to their first ever Blades game......that was fun.

Could well have been Danny Wilson’s last game on charge that as I recall.

That must’ve been the season I barely saw us score. I missed the odd game and it seemed to be all the wrong ones as I recall going months without seeing us score a goal despite being a season ticket holder.

Miller looked like he could be a good Division One player and possibly a passable Championship player, but then his ACL went pop at around Xmas time. And he never threatened to achieve anything with us ever again.

The main thing I do remember from that season was the playoff defeat to Yeovil. Reminded me of the similar one against Sunderland in the late 90s. Mathematically you knew it was possible, and there was a slight slither of hope but deep down you knew the team just didn't have it in them and it was just a depressing experience watching the season fizzle out of 90 long minutes. You never know where the future is going to take you but I'm 100% sure we'll see nothing like that while Wilder is in charge.

I remember it like yesterday and I was absolutely gutted, he had been growing with confidence since the start of that season scoring regularly and then the injury hit on Boxing Day at home against Scunny. We still won and went top of the league that day but it was all downhill from there. Best memory of him was he nodded in the last minute winner in extra time in early Feb '14 in the FA Cup replay at Fulham and I was there, he'd just become a dad so he celebrated doing a baby cradle. I think it was this match that started the 10 game winning run we went on with 7 of them in the league.

To top Miller's injury off we sold Nick Blackman to Reading a few weeks later in the JTW who we'd only just signed that summer! If we hadn't have lost these two then I would have been more confident of finishing in the autos but then I think we may have struggled to stay up the following season and we may not have appointed CWAK!

You could still see the quality he had but being surrounded by utter shite (bar Maguire) didn't help matters, still notched a few goals though. He was on the decline but TBF to him he was 33 at the time and got injured in the ribs in the Yeovil semi-final first leg at home, might have been Ayling that took him out who's a big unit. That was the last we ever saw of him as he didn't make the second leg.

And that was why Danny Wilson got sacked. That second half of the season United were dreadful at the Lane, although bizarrely away from home were a different team altogether, played well and generally won. Wilson's cause wasn't helped over the festive period when he lost Shaun Miller (who had just found a great run of form) to long term injury and McCabe's answer to this instead of buying a decent replacement was to sell the other striker, Nick Blackman, who was also in decent form. McCabe released the funds to sign Robson on a short term free, Jonathon Forte on loan and Dominic Poleon. And some fans wonder why McCabe gets slated!!!

I always thought if Wilson had got it the other way around, good home form/results with the bad stuff being away from the Lane, he'd have probably seen the season out.

Left after their 3rd , walked out and hailed a taxi and was necking a pint in Gunwharf Quays ten minutes later , I think the match still had about 20 minutes left.
We managed the seemingly impossible that day by making Johnny Ertl look good for them.

I feel I should probably return my season ticket for admitting this, but I didn't watch, listen to or even follow the second leg against Yeovil. I went to a county cricket game instead and just had a quick check of the score at full-time. I'd spent the last few months knowing that we were utter rubbish so didn't even give us a prayer against Yeovil, even with a 1 goal advantage... I think that Portsmouth game mentioned above was my "done with this season" moment. We got absolutely annihilated by a team that was already relegated and had Johnny Ertl playing like Andrea Pirlo in midfield against us.
