So do you think Ertl turn out to be a good signing? I just hope he stays injury free and doesn't get Ertl the time

i like him already, on that website he says beating the league 1 piggies on the last day was the best win of his career

Palace mate of mine says he gives 100% and can do a job in a few positions. He's gutted. Sounds good.

Cheers, I was just about to ask that. Sounds a better bet than France in the jack of all trades role.

Now lets get that keeper, passing midfielder and centre back(s). If only for a bit of peace and quiet on here. :)

decent signing, looked solid enough when I have seen him, roll on the good times!

Have also just seen, Craig Morgan (defender from Peterborough) wants a move up north, potentially a back up centre back for cheap here?

Ertl's quality according to a few Palace fans i've spoken too. Good mobility and is good on the ball. Let's hope we can get Simonsen now.

Good signing, and more to come. Starting to feel hopeful that we are attracting the right qualities we need.

Not how you start, etc...

It was a draw. He doesn't sound very inteligant

oh the irony...

This will make Pinchy et al cringe but he sounds like a typical modern day SUFC player. Great workrate, passionate, gets stuck in and a great lad but maybe not quite the best technically.

Pleased to sign another big lad, it would be good to have 6 or 7 six footers in the team every week (as long as we've got some pace to go with it).

That's the general sentiment on Holmesdale...

Very upsetting. Had the makings of a real cult hero. Perhaps not the most gifted player, but worked as hard as anyone and always had a real effect on the game. Wish him well and it is a real shame we couldn't offer him something before he felt he had to make a decision.

Can't say that I've took any notice of him before but from comments so far he sounds like a good signing.

Generally very happy with this signing, always looked a solid performer for Palace and gave the creative Ambrose the time to play with flair.

My only worry is that Blackwell sees him as a central midfield partner for the complete opposite of Ambrose, namely Monty.

Please dear lord above, we do not want to go back to the Monty/Liegertwood midfield days.............

Quite. He's the sort of player who should be playing instead of Monty, not next to him.

Agree 100% but as we have given the splay-footed one, (copywright Big Mart) a new deal I can hardly see him picking splinters out of his arse all season.

He's even got a Montyesque scoring record of 0 in 45.

I will reserve judgment until it's apparent what Blackwell wants to do with him. I see he plays in other positions and it'll be nice to have some height in the midfield - and his time at centre half would tend to suggest that, unlike Leggy, he can actually head a ball.

Hopefully he's more than a Leggy clone - even Robson only tried those two together once.

Blackie says he can play centre half, right back or central midfield. You know that means he will start at left back or left midfield
