Offer me before June and I'd take it. Any later would feel ridiculous.

I think this season is toast, there's no way this will all blow over before mid Summer.

Season is over, be lucky see any football again this year!
Just saying!

Yep i have been saying for a month now its over 😞

All football in England below the three divisions that make up the National League will end immediately and all results will be expunged.

It means there will be no promotion or relegation in these leagues. Its the thin end of the wedge !

Lers not forget that this Virus has only just started to get going.
I can see the rest of this season continuing next year.

There’s the second wave to come from all the lockdown areas when they release their populations, then the second lock down periods to get through...

We won’t be seeing any more live football in 2020.

Not looking good based on what was announced for non league just now:

There’s a lot of anger at this decision, particularly with clubs like South Shields that were poised to be promoted – their chairman is fuming:

There’s a real sense of injustice both at this and the fact it’s not been made consistently with the National Leagues – it’s highly possible that we might see these dealt with differently, and League football dealt with differently still. Imagine if this sort of thing had hit us last season, or 2017. Not a good situation at all. There are no perfect solutions, but the null & void approach seems one of the harshest ones.

Leeds and Liverpool both getting screwed over doubt that will happen

I am becoming increasingly doubtful that this season will be completed. To many it will seem crass to be playing football matches [with or without a crowd] whilst 1000's are dying daily across the world, & many in this country will know someone who has & is being affected.

Talk of the virus being around for months seems to me to put this season in jeopardy. That is unless the ending of this season takes place in the Autumn, but what happens to the 20-21 season I have no idea. Clubs who have not been promoted, or won leagues & cups might enter litigation. But in all honesty I think they will be laughed out of court when faced with the reality of the virus.

I hope I am wrong, but I fear I may be correct.

Keep safe

Apparently the Daily Mail today reports there's growing momentum from PL clubs to declare the current season null and void, quoting an anonymous high-level representative from a PL club (probably Karren Brady).

I reckon this is wishful thinking BS, but if it were to happen, IMO it wouldn't be much of a 'solution', as there's no guarantee next season would be able to start in August (or anywhere near then) anyway.

It would be ideal, therefore, to keep the remaining 10-game quarter-season in hand to play out, whenever it is fully safe to resume.

If nothing else, it would give PL and EFL clubs, players, and suppliers (some of which could be new ones, replacing former bankrupt companies fallen by the wayside) the chance to ease (back) into the routine and infrastructure, before jumping in at the deep end of a new full, demanding season.

Of course all bottom 6 clubs in danger would prefer a reset in the hope they can avoid relegation. Bit what is the point of voiding this season if a 're emergence of an outbreak could possibly void next season . To void 2 seasons on the trot would probably lose a large proportion of the world wide audience which funds it.
Then there's season ticket refunds and how will sponsors view voiding a product . No outcome would kill all they are giving big money to. Will all the prem clubs lose the 20 to 40m final placing money . That won't go down well

Postpone the remainder of the season until August and carry forward current positions, points, GD etc. into the 2020/21 season.

Better than scrapping a full season surely. No promotion, no relegation in 2020 just resume where you left off. Can't think of a fairer option TBH.

Completely illogical to scrap this season whilst considering starting next on time.

I was confident the season would be finished whenever that was but I'm now starting to think they will look after the bigger clubs like Liverpool and Leeds and fuck over the smaller ones knowing they don't have the clout to challenge meaningfully.

Isn't the UK the source of the second wave once allowed to travel again?
