Considering our Billy with 15 goals was the only Sheffield United player to feature on the Champoinship scoring leader board last season (for another team), we find his departure quite laughable.
Why our coaching / management staff could not utilize his skills correctly is beyond comprehension.

That's not a dig at either's ability, i just think that the two of them cannot work together.
A big shame IMO as it's obvious Billy's got a great deal of ability.
I'm sure KB's got his eye on a 15st 6'3 centre forward from league's one or two to boost our front line.

Laws does know how to play Billy, how many did he bang in last time he played in claret and blue under Laws, whipping balls in and around the box, not hoofing it up or getting him to run down the channels

The pressure will always be too much for him at the Lane. At Scunny and Doncaster he was under no pressure and scored bags of goals. Here the weight of expectation from the fans means he'll not relax enough to play like he needs to and the fans will be on his back like before if he freezes in front of goal. It's a pity cos I'd love him to be a legend at the Lane, it just doesn't look like it'll happen.

Yeh, maybe, but surely Billy and Le Fondre are pretty much the same style centre forward? Aren't they?
If Blackwell doesn't play to either's strengths then IMO it's a pointless signing. That's why Ward get's played as a winger and not a striker.

Ward has played more as a winger in the past, likes playing there and tends to be more successful goals wise.

Maybe the fact this deal has not yet gone through, and the fact Blackwell is being quiet, may be connected. I hate to speculate, but sod it, maybe Billy has been told Blackwell could be on his way and is holding fire to see if it materialises, thus staying with the Blades.

Burnley are recieving £7m for Fletcher, as much as I think he's decent he's not worth £7m, hopefully we'll try and milk alot of the £2m we paid for Billy knowing they've recieved so much
