One of the most memorable moments in United's recent history, Basham scoring the winner when put through against Leeds. It was a fantastic atmosphere and great celebrations after the game. A moment when we started to believe that we really could get promoted.

I didn't start to believe we'd get promoted until Brentford beat Leeds on the 22nd April.

Every time I watch it, when the commentator says "Basham's arriving!" , the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

One of the defining moments of the promotion season.
I think it was the defining moment of the season Leeds knew in their hearts from that moment it was the play off's at best for them.

The week after this, we lost 3-2 at home to Bristol City and Leeds beat Wednesday to re-establish their advantage!

I think the Leeds defeat at home to Wigan was what really killed them. This kept us in touch with them.

It was definitely one of them. Playing heroically for around 55 minutes with only 10 men against Brentford, going to Hull with three games left, a team that hadn't lost at home in about 5 months, 3-0 up at half time and the sold our away fans singing, literally, from before kick off to the final whistle, non-stop.

Ipswich at home, Scott Hogan with a tap in and then the big header from JOC to pretty much seal it.

The players, still half drunk, playing at Stoke on the final day, with enough twists left that we could have taken top spot (not to be, in the end).

What a season.

I think that was the turning point for them. That is when they really started to run out of steam.

I remember the likes of Jack Clarke struggling to run down the wing in that match to get on the ball and I am sure he had not long since come on as a sub. Bielsa had burned them out good style.

I loved when bamford said we all celebrated like morons and as though we’d won the league... looool.
Yes That was sweet. It said it all really knowing Bamford after all his mouthing before hand had really spat his dummy out .That Basham goal finally convinced the doubters that we were returning to the big time but Blades being Blades did try there best the match after to balls it up.The best though was the reaction of Bamford who even after still mouthed off and made himself look a idiot.A brilliant ball from Billy and a cool finish from our great center half just like a proper striker.

Bamford missed chance after chance and looked like a 10 pound striker and our center back looked like a 20 million pound striker.

How time flies, remember it like it was yesterday.

Hanging out my arse after going OTT the Friday night, back on the ale about 8am, pissing it down with rain all morning, missed the first 10 minutes of the game due to Leeds opening one turnstile for about 500 of our fans. Horrible performance on the eye but a classic Wilder grind-it-out result when it mattered. Bash’s goal obviously in the history books forever.

After the game we nearly got done in whilst walking back to town amongst masses of pissed off Leeds fans. As a bus full of Blades went past sticking the fingers up, we decided to start cheering and giving them the first pumps...

Then we lost the next game to Bristol and blew it.

One of my favourite united games, missed first 10 mins waiting to get in, and the free bus journey back past all the weeds fans was brilliant.

it was the defeat to 10 man Wigan at home that started me believing in it ....... lovely 😊

Was in a hotel room in Manchester that day. Fucking roasting. No Sky and no internet so had to endure Final Score. Still, twas all worth it to see L**ds well and truly bottle it!

Think Leon got an assist for Wigan too!

And to be fair Basham could have been hauled off after 30 minutes as he was having a shocker. But what character, what a guy. He's our modern day Bob Booker.

I notice L**ds nowadays are ironically singing 'Falling apart again". I would love it if it came back and bit them on their arses again this season.
