Newcastle game in doubt - OFF

If there are no symptoms, then using the same proviso as yesterday, it should really be played. But that's only based on what the government said and not my own views.

I'm very much on the fence as to whether supporters should be allowed in.

I just can't see how the league gets finished. It will be staggering if a single club makes it to the end of the season without one player being infected, and as such having their teammates put in isolation too.

Ok, if the game is cancelled what about the trains, are the train companies saying it’ll be safe to travel or will they refund?

I can see majority of fans still travelling if a day out is already planned & paid for even if the game is cancelled.

Pubs will still be open and probably full for longer, I can’t see hotels cancelling bookings or refunding outside their cancellation policies.
It’s business as usual, according to Government advice, but the people who are concerned (with or without symptoms) can still choose not to go without calling for the game to be cancelled.

The Newcastle game - and all other PL games - will be called off later today. We're living in strange times and this is the 'phony war'. Once bus drivers, the police, ticket office workers, train drivers, bar staff etc. decide to 'self-isolate', all normal activity will be suspended for the forseeable. Nobody with any sense will book a holiday and the '13 year curse' will have struck again.

Bloody hell talk about doom & gloom, I'm just off to top myself before the inevitable happens🙁

Exactly, it's absolutely pointless calling off the match at this short notice, what do they think those 50k people will do with their free Saturday? Just sit at home?

Every journalist on twitter basically. Dan Roan the latest to say it

But what's the source? They could just be copying each other's Tweets.

Nothing has been decided yet, as far as I can tell.

Newcastle’s manager, Steve Bruce, says the Premier League should shutdown until “the situation is clearer”. Newcastle are due to play Sheffield United at 3pm GMT on Saturday and Bruce says none of his players nor staff have shown symptoms of coronavirus. “Touch wood."

Most of the Newcastle ones will, our 3,000 however?

Different tale.

See you all in Newcastle.

At least the pubs will be quieter

Has he got his hand on his head again?

Called off.....bollocks.

I’m going anyway, a few more hours drinking time. Every cloud.....,
