I used to go and see them play in the 3rd division when I studied in Hull. They were always very friendly to a Blades fan.

However, once they had a bit of success many of their fans became deluded morons who refused to accept that they used to get small crowds or be in the bottom division. The last few Hull City fans I've met have been amongst the most idiotic, thick and irrational. I note their chairman has decided to cut his losses and they are sliding down at a Wednesday rate.

On 31st January, Dull were 13 points outside the relegation zone. Then they sold Jarred Bowen and Kamil Grosicki on the same day (their 'Brian Deane/Jan Åge Fjørtoft' moment of utter stupidity). They're now 2 points outside the relegation zone. Who employs these dumb fucks?

Hull are in a league where it’s impossible to survive without either parachute payments, player sales or the owners putting large amounts of money in each season (£5m+). Their owners have no intention of putting any more money into the club so they’re cashing in on the club’s assets while they can.

No one employs the owners, and they’re probably not feeling that dumb as they’re counting the money that’s just gone into their bank account.

Had 2 nights in the Holiday Inn on the Marina last week and managed a trip to Brid and to dine at Leonardo's and the Lion and Key as well as the funeral I was there for.

Who cares. It’s a city that loves rugby league more than it does football and I always think of them as a small club. They spent most of my childhood years in the third and fourth division. Amazing how a couple of flings in the top flight can give you delusions of grandeur.

Yes, because they won’t spend above their means chasing promotion. What is probable, is that Hull can survive in L1 without owner investment. What is certain is that they cannot survive in the championship without owner investment.

I think it's a nice little moment for their fans to talk about a team doing well and wishing negativity on that team. It probably gives them a feeling of superiority for a moment considering their fate over the next few years. Looking at their fate, since they have been so kind as to take an in depth and incisive look at ours driven by research and taking forward our current financial status to its conclusion, I would like to look at theirs.

Current position in the league 4th from bottom with no league win since 1/1/20. Of the current bottom three Charlton managed a win on the 22nd Feb (slightly over two weeks ago) Luton managed a win on the 25th Feb (against the team that demolished the pigs on Saturday) Barnsley managed a win on the 22nd Feb (Just over two weeks ago) So current position for Hull looks as though the 2 points delta they currently have over the relegation zone will soon be gone.

Next season for Hull.
Assets - Playing staff circa £5mil if they sold all of them and replaced the staff with the youth squad.
- Cash £20 mil from the sales this season will go towards furnishing the debts of the current owner before he offloads the club.
- Ground rent therefore no assets.

Position in the league - Likely struggle in league one depending on who else they need to sell, if they are allowed to keep their current squad it is likely thy will end up bottom half of league one. George Long for instance was not good enough for a league one challenge and hence why we have Simon Moore on our books. There is an unfortunate lack of team togetherness or confidence which can counteract a poor level of ability so it looks like a prolonged stint in League 1 or 2 which based on their position throughout their history is their benchmark position.

Who knows though they may get a third lucky spell. Spell 1 new ground from nowhere due to having white phone boxes Spell 2 rich owner pops up days before going into liquidation maybe there is a 3rd spell of luck that will land in their lap?

One thing Chris Wilder can say is that he was not lucky, he has not had a new stadium bounce or a rich owner pop in from somewhere he has had to do it with the supporters and indigenous money he had. Fortunately having a fan base that can pull 27,000 & 30,000 in league one and regularly get 28,000 in the championship is big help. Having a decent history and not a johnny come lately fickle fan base is really helpful to. Also being part of a large conurbation and not an anomaly has helped also.

In defence of Hull, I know a few of their fans from years of working in Grimsby and their a decent bunch in my experience. They don't like Leeds at all, whereas with us, it's only a rivalry on the day, unless we're competing with them regularly, and that's not happened that much over the years.

They've been shafted by poor ownership and I hope they can get that sorted. Plus, they always seem to beat Wednesday, but struggle to beat us!
