If they came in to stand

He’s not a big guy but there’s something about Baldock that would worry me. His angry face is quite scary.
Yeah, he’s a full on nutter. I reckon you could keep knocking him down but he’d keep getting up until he’d sorted you out properly.

Reckon Suffo is up there along with that utter nut job who's name I cant remember, he played in the derby when we beat pigs at their place, was it Morrison? He grabbed collymore by the neck and licked his face once, with no comeback.

I'd tell Mo Besic straight to his face "wot u gunna do eh?, shurrup, get back on pitch and put a proper shift in ya lazy twat" then calmly and casually sit back down as if nothing had just happened...

😉

😏

🤣

Billy Whitehurst if you listen to Alan Hansen he was the only player he was actually really scared of.

Mike Trusson (just because he hasn't been mentioned yet), The Stir ran a week long campaign saying he'd be matched up against a street fighter when we played a non league team in the cup, it worked. Half way through the first half Trusson knocked him out and got sent off, we lost.

Altrincham, John King.

Realistically, I think the vast majority of us who shout stuff at matches would cack ourselves a bit if confronted by the person we were shouting at, even if it was someone like Louis Reed or Stefan Scougall.

Most fans are guilty of shouting 'That was fucking wank' or 'Thas bin shite today [insert name here]'. I can say with 100% certainty that I am. But can you imagine if the player you were gobbing at actually came up to your face and questioned you on the things you were shouting?

People go on about the protection of anonymity on social media, meaning people get brave and say shit they'd never say to someone's face, but the same is massively true for crowds as well. If the match was on and the other 30,000 fans weren't drowning out your insults, would you say half the things you usually say at a match? Even if it was pretty likely that McBurnie or Lundstrum might 'do a Dier' and come up to have a word about why you think it's acceptable to call them a useless wanker whilst at work?

Obviously I know this is different from what happened last night. Sounds like some brainless turds were having a pop at Dier's brother so he waded in. Just found it an interesting thing to think about.

I agree but not about the Scougall and Reid bit I’d fancy my chances against them. I didn’t realise how tall Wilder was until recently being in his presence. Decent stature to the bloke himself.

I'd take on one or two of the current crop of ball boys with some Stella and Charlie in me...

Big Dougie Hodgson...read his extract from DB's Book, he tells of a story when playing Aussie rules down under before DB signed him...he went into the stand when he or a family member got some abuse.
Second one.
He was co commentator with I think with Paul walker when he was still doing it for Rad Sheff, away game at Bolton or Burnley, blades scored and this fan (big barsteward by all accounts) took exception to walkers commentary (you could hear him gobbing off at them), and headed towards them, you could hear the amuzement (he even mentioned and joked about it with dougie on air afterwards during the game) in walkers voice and amazement as dougie just ripped his headedphones off and just steamed down the stand towards this fella coming up, very quickly this fella realised that it would be far better to go and sit back down very quickly, dougie came and sat back down with paul and they carried on, but they were both trying very hard not to burst out laughing during the rest of the game.
Loved dougie, think he still keeps in touch with blades.
I was actually listening to that game as well peed misen laughing, was brill.

We’ve had a few and they always seem to fit right in. So maybe the question should be: would they fancy it? 😈😈😈😈

Regaled this before some where, December '82 Saltergate, sat isle seat 3-4 rows from back of stand, match been playing 5-10 minutes. Up the steps comes 3-4 United none playing players lead by Stuart Houston. Houston comes up to me says "Your sat in my seat". Not a, by your leave or kiss my ar*s*, cheeky barsteward. "No I'm not" was the reply" you are" was his retort, so I stood up showed him the seat ticket and he went else where. Bloody Scotsman trying to tell a Yorkshireman in Derbyshire, bloody worlds gone mad.

Not a Blade, but Graeme Souness on Sky, always looks like he's a hair's breadth away from giving someone a Glasgow Kiss.

"Terrace Fighting" is different though isn't it. It's about projecting an image, so that "the other group" back down.
I'm a lover not a fighter. But, I've actually been in a situation immediately after a game where one of "my group" had an argument with a United player. The assembled squad decided to "come at us aggressively". My mate merely explained to them that they were in his World now, not on the pitch & they needed to consider what they were realistically going to do next. Which they did, and got on the team coach. As we were in the right anyway - fuck 'em (we thought at the time)
