I would go with this.

........................... Henderson

........... Retsos...........Egan.............JOC

K. Freeman.........................................Dawson

......................Norwood...........Fleck

..............................McGoldrick

.............Mousett...................Macburnie

Does anyone think there's any chance of Zak Brunt being in the squad at all? know he's been training with the first team. I, as I feel like I say every Cup game, would love to see some of the U23s start playing with the first team. Feel like every team does it except us.

Oh and I'd go

Henderson
Freeman - Retsos - Egan - JOC - Osborn
Besic - Berge - Freeman
Mousset - McGoldrick

........................... Henderson

..........Retsos...........Egan...........O'Connell

Baldock...............................................Osborn

..................................Berge...........................

................Lundstram................Fleck............

.............Mousett...................McGoldrick

Subs: Verrips, Basham, J. Robinson, Norwood, Sharp, McBurnie, Zivkovic.

Let's have a look at Berge in the central role. I'd expect us to have a lot of the ball in this one so it's a good opportunity for him to show us what he can do.

We need to see Retsos & Zivkovic needs some minutes off the bench.

I take it there will be no VAR for this game? watching the Championship on Quest this morning there were a few dubious goals scored this weekend. At least if we score our fans can celebrate without one eye on the big screen.

Like everyone does anyway

Personally i would drop Henderson for this and put Verrips in , the reason being is that with the manure game coming up we're going to have to change keepers for that and i think we would be better served having a replacement that has had some real match day experience and a feel for playing with the first team rather than just a one off game for them plus i also feel verrips needs a chance and wouldn,t let us down and gives us a better insight into the keeper situation for next season .

We're at the business end of the season - no messing around with experiments.

Give players a rest? fuck that - they've had all sorts of rests recently.

BEST team available...........then BEST team available on Saturday too.

We're here to win something, not piss around giving players a game - we're playing with the big boys now - ACT LIKE IT.

Broadly agree. The game is on a Tuesday, we don't play again until the weekend so plenty of recovery time for our players. Perhaps shake it up on the striker front and rest anyone who is not 100 percent, but yes, we need to go for this. Semis are at Wembley these days, so the winner be one game from a Wembley appearance (crappy really given the expense of going to Wembley, but if we got that far you could see this team making the final).

Don't know much about the current Reading side, but they are mid table with little chance of promotion or relegation, so they'll be going for it too. They won 3-0 at Hillsborough recently, but that doesn't mean they are any good.

Best 11 for me. Give the speed merchants a run out up top for the last 20 👍

..........and our Saturday opponents play Wednesday away at Spurs so we also get an extra days rest as well as being at home. Norwich are taking 9K fans to Spurs (brilliant effort) - can't see them playing reserves either.

We simply have to play out best team to go and win the game easily rather than struggle.

Get it done in 90 mins - or even by half time.

We were extremely comfortable at Millwall all the game and having watched reading a couple of times since the draw, we have to turn up and just play how we do.

Well said.

Wilder: Retsos and Zivkovic “will be involved” (he didn’t say they’d start), but will look at any injuries and who would suit this game in particular, and certainly won’t be making 6 or more changes. If you expect Osborn and the front two to probably be three of those changes, there will be 1-2 additional changes at most. I expect Luke Freeman will be 1 of those for Fleck.

Exactly this. Long-term I do think Berge will be best suited to the holding role, so it'd be good to give him a go there now

Henderson
Basham Egan O'Connell
Baldock Berge Norwood Fleck Osborn
Mousset McGoldrick
Subs:- Verrips, Retsos, Jagielka, Lundstram, L.Freeman, McBurnie, Zivkovic

Full strength except for striker rotation and giving Stevens more time to recover.
Give Retsos and Zivkovic some minutes if we're comfortably in front at any stage.

Let's not piss about.

Henderson
Osborn
Basham
Egan
O'Connell
Baldock
Berge
Norwood
Fleck
McGoldrick
Sharp
