Stadium and facilities redevelopment post KMC

Bramall Lane hosting four of the Women's Euros matches in summer 2021, so presumably that rules out any major redevelopment work that summer. Seems likely that it is already too late for this summer. So any major redevelopment projects presumably going to be summer 2022 at the earliest.

Shame that. I was hoping to see some development season after next.

Really hope they do something with the kop more than anything. I’ve moved to the Westfield corner and the kop lets the whole ground down.

Get rid of the poles etc and we’ll have an incredible looking stadium.

It aint necessarily so! I notice that on the list of venues includes Leigh Sports Village with a capacity of 12,000, Man City's Academy stadium at 7,000, Brentford's new stadium at 17,000 and Rotherham's New York Stadium at 12,000 so its possible, that we've said that we'll host games but it could be a reduced capacity and yet still be one of the bigger venues on the list. Totally guessing here but you never know. Maybe its also possible that the Kop, assuming the Kop will be extended at some point, could still be open to part of the Kop during the works, although I've no idea on whether this could be achieved.

Don't say that. The soulless bowl brigade are hanging onto any sliver of hope that their Madeski dreams will be realised. You'll have them throwing their atmosphere generating clapper device at the wall in a petulant tantrum if you're not careful.

If the club are really switched on, they could have a planning application in the pipeline, ready for safe standing legislation to be implemented.
Given financial liabilities elsewhere at the club, I can’t see this Kop job getting the go ahead, at least until the end of next season

There seems to be a lot of clubs with plans in place for further expansion including Forest, Wolves, Everton, Brighton and Liverpool.Let's hope we keep pace.

For what it's worth Atalanta dismantled the Curva the day after the last game of last season and reopened the new one October 6th.

Think they played a handfull of games away first and used another stadium for the home games they had to play . They qualified for the CL last season and have maintained a high standard since. However the curva was pretty much scaffolding before so wouldn't have taken much to rip down..

Impressive feat though and the atmosphere is phenomenal

Still having to play CL games at San Siro though as they don't have UEFA certificate.

Yep, I've been. Believe it's due to a number of reasons, one being the side stands aren't up to standard and hard to get them there and they are listed and also one of the side stands opens up straight on the road..

The most cost-effective solution for ground improvements for us would probably be a new ground, likely tied into some wider regeneration of a larger site.
Can't think of anywhere reasonably central though.

I know this is anathema to some but I'd be willing to bite the bullet, chuck a few quid Wednesday's way, play matches there for 12-18 months and and redevelop on the existing site. Assuming they are still in the shit, it would be lovely if we were the 1st team to average 30k there in however many decades it is 😂

It would have to be a new site with revenue from selling BL part of the deal.
Can't think of anywhere reasonably central so it would probably end up being one of those soulless new-builds in the middle of nowhere.

Is that what you’re recommending then?

Fuck me sideways....

Not recommending it but various people pointed out the difficulties of redeveloping BL while we're still playing there.
Moving to a new ground entirely would mean we could continue playing there while a new ground is built.
It probably also makes sense financially to do it in one go, link it to redevelopment, sale of the ground etc.

The Prince aint for moving.
Bramall Lane will remain home to SUFC
There is a long-term plan for redevelopment of the ground
McCabe et al need paying following the ruling
The priority for CWAK and the Prince was training facilities and academy. This is happening.
The Prince has said we need to establish in the PL before any ground work starts
South stand would be first because of many of the points raised here, both commercially and logistically.
The Prince doesn't like the bolt-on plan for the kop and would prefer it was 'done properly'

With the above information, I see no ground work for 2 or 3 years and nothing for the kop for 5 years. Unless the Prince bags a big joint investor.

Prince Abdullah on the future of Bramall Lane...
"Bramall Lane is a historical stadium. We want to make it better; it can be improved in a lot of areas, but we'll never move out."

What about Norfolk Park Fields opposite goals? Only reason being, it's a stones throw away from the Lane with main roads nearby and the space is roughly the same size as BL (minus car park). Not too sure how happy the school/residents would be though 😬

What about staying at Bramall Lane for evermore ?

or that... i was just intrigued that there are apparently not many places for a new football stadium nearby, I reckon there are, but maybe not so obvious or realistic... that site near norfolk park looks like it would be perfect as we could also turn Goals into an academy/training complex
