3-0 up, 30 minutes left, opponents down to 10, last game of the season in a meaningless game, 2 youngsters on the bench. Any chance that they get a game? Nope one for the future Little comes on with 5 mins left. Priceless

Seemed especially strange as didn't Blackwell say they'd all play some part?

As it was their first time in the full team squad, a ride on the big lads coach and sitting on the bench might have been as much of the part they were meant to play. Maybe Blackie was tipped off about PL scouts in the stands looking to pick up a couple of bargains over the summer, and decided to keep them under wraps for now. At least Lowton got a game and impressed by all accounts. Hopefully we can see these lads coming through. It would help with the 'why dont we get more academy kids making it?' question, and as Lowton has matured his game in Hungary, it would at last be an indicator that there might be some value to our foreign sister clubs after all.

Crikey - after such a fantastic day to be a Blade why would you want to talk about anything negative? We played Lowton for the full game & gave a professional performance for 90 minutes. No complaints from me.

first, i didn't go to the match, so I won't comment on that, but how is it at all possible to find anything negative about yesterday? I have still got a stupid grin on my face this morning!

Come on, it must be allowed to have two thoughts in one's head at the same time. I fully agree with Copenhagen that that was THE ideal scenario to make your debut in, and the fact that Foster in particular didn't come on suggests that the management doesn't rate him very highly.

The Ipswich lad that got sent off on his debut may have been gutted yesterday, but if there's any character in him, I think he'll be determined to learn from it and come back stronger next season. I think at least some playing time for Foster would have given him some extra motivation over the summer.

I think you're clutching at straws a bit there Dunc, I can't really see any PL scouts signing a kid based on one game, and even if that was the case why did he bother risking Lawton?

It is strange and is another occasion when Mr B should think before he speaks!

I'm with copenhagen on this one. It would have been the perfect time to get them some experience.

Totally agree. I was waiting much of second half for one or both of them to be given their debut. The way the match went gave us a brilliant opportunity to give them a run out. If we can't give the kids chances in these games, we'll never give them a chance. I think this was a huge mistake by Blackwell, and it does not give the academy lads much credit at all.

I agree, they should have played some part when we went 3 up against 10, thought Lowton looked really promising yesterday so would like to see more of him next season, but with Wardy back, where would he fit in? As much as I have criticised him, I also thought Yeates was magnificent yesterday and really hope he can produce that on a regular basis next season, a few good signings in the summer and we should be looking for play offs at the least, it will be a lot closer next year than it has been this year, if Burnley keep Laws they will struggle as we all know how good he is, Hull I feel will now be a mirror image of Bradford and slip back down the leagues, and who knows with Portsmouth, they may even be out of existence soon. As for sides coming up, Norwich will definitely have to invest in some decent players as most won't cut it at CCC level, and the others are still to be decided, though I can't see any of the potential sides to join us really doing a lot to be honest, next year is a great chance for us!

Not too sure about that, I have watched them a few times this season as I live nearby, they really aren't a good side, they bully the lesser oppo, but against stronger sides they have struggled, despite getting a result, that won't happen so often in CCC

Every year a promoted team seems to reach the play-offs, it was expected to be Posh this season under the next big thing Fergie Jnr but it turned out to be Leicester. To be honest, I'd expect Norwich to do OK, Leeds too if they manage to jump the final hurdle. It's weird how a team can be relegated in turmoil and return so much stronger only 18 months later.

It's a strange division the CCC, you have teams re-building and struggling after relegation, a dozen (like ourselves) who know what's what in this division and will be there or thereabouts, some with a bit of money, some struggling and seemingly every season there's a settled side playing with confidence and momentum following promotion who hit the ground running and end up being a surprise package.

To be honest mate I hope Norwich do well, just not as well as us, in order to keep my budgie mates in their cages, but a lot of them also agree with what I say, they have several players who just won't cut it in CCC, but who knows, might all be wrong! Next season will be incredibly interesting!
