Big Bash

With Bash you as a supporter have seen limitations. But cripes today's performance was ridiculous, everything he did was just outstanding, there just seems so much heart with the guy but today to go with that heart was soooo so much quality. Without doubt Bash was the MOM by miles today, brilliant.

You get a like purely for using the word cripes

Whenever we think he’ll be replaced he just goes up a notch. He’s a freak of nature. He could play in defence for just about anyone in world football.

Any comparison between Bash and any of the 'kick it, head it' players we've had in the past are hopefully due to his personality and seeming endless ability to just get on with things. He was absolutely superb today and is most weeks.

I've had doubts about him at every level we've played at and he just keeps coming back and not only proving me wrong, but excelling at his job. He will never be given the credit he deserves in the footballing world but we all love you Bash.

Bash was immense. Loved his obligatory weekly winning of a free kick just outside our own area after having nicked the ball from an attacker.

Bash has been one of our most consistent players this season.

When he was struggling under Clough and Adkins in League one no one, not even Basham, could have foreseen this.

Love the guy!

Will be guest of honour for years when he retired - typifies everything good about the Wilder era

Agree......his career is like something out of Rocky.

I never rated him at league 1 level....he was so average but had a good attitude.
Really doubted he’d cope at Championship....but he made the step was massively effective for us.
Really thought he’s struggle at PL level .....but again he’s made the step up and looks so effective for us.
A truly unbelievable improvement....it’s a great story.....agree he’s a lifetime legend of this club.

Actually he deserves life time legend status just for his goal away at Leeds....that was an historic moment.
Same as Duffy is a legend for his bounce killer goal.......those 2 goals I could watch over and over and over again.

I did 😁
Player of the season so far for me, certainly a contender anyway.

That last bit of play on the clip epitomises everything about Bash. Brings the ball down on their goal line like a winger then when the ball comes back out, he’s the one to win it straight back and set us up again.

People say its just about hard work our team but the likes of Bash show a good turn of skill as well.

If it was about hard work alone we’d be very similar to Warnock’s side, that’s what a team of hardworking players trying to fight their way to PL survival looks like.

I want to be there that day when Bash goes on one of his runs, but instead of panicking when he gets to the edge of the box and playing a safe pass square, has a look up and smashes one in from 30 yards...... one day!

He didn't against Leeds, he slipped and scored. 🤣

I endorse all the above comments on how brilliant he is and how he's stepped up in each league we've progressed to.

But I hope that not just within United but to the outside football world he will be recognised as one of the first overlapping centre backs that purposefully play this system (JO'C also the first as well).

A Legend and an Evolutionary player.

Part of the holy trinity....

I have to say I didn't rate Bash back in the day under Clough and Adkins but he has won me over. I think every player has the scope to improve their game but it just needs the right manager to get that improvement from them.

Basham has shown you can keep working on your game and rise to the top even when you get into your 30's.

I bet he’ll have been the first name on Wilder’s team-sheet almost from the off, he’s got to be in with a real shout of our player of the season if he keeps his form

Was saying at the game today that we are going to have one hell of a time replacing him when the time arrives.
