Couldn't not talk about this - first of all, Blades Analytic joins me to give a football analyst's view on the signing (and Zivkovic and Retsos), then Roygbiv is on the line to talk about what this means for SUFC as a whole, the rollercoaster of following the transfer as it unfolded, and also the players who have left the club in the last few days.

Cheers, as always, for listening!

What’s not clear is if he definitely played for us... anyone?

Did a quick google, and this guy on sheffieldforum seems to be suggesting at the time it was produced that club legend Lee Zivkovic is on the 120 year anniversary away shirt!

“It seems we've taken things to a new level regarding players with the likes of Iain Dowe, Howard Wilkinson, Kevin Muscat, Oliver Bernard and Tony Daley who were only ever short term trailists getting a mention also with the following unknown youth team players who might have been on the bench v Bognor Regis in some random pre season friendly;

Angelos Vilanakis
Valentino
Kris Trajanowski
Gasper Pauckstadt
Dominic Iorfa
Karim Kerkar
Lee Zivkovic

All very strange, i'm glad i for one will be getting the shirt free.”

Can anyone with the shirt to hand have a look? The inclusion of Muscat struck me at the time as odd, and it’s something that has absolutely not aged well either.

Yep that’s how the fella knew about him in the first place!

Fair play to him – I can’t remember reading it when I first got the shirt, though to be honest by the time I’d have got to that name the rage from seeing Muscat’s on there was probably still fresh enough for me to ignore all other possible mysteries.

Just on yoof, Dewhurst and RND, reckon those two have a chance.

If RND gets to a Champ club next season, I'm hoping we can have a look again and get him in to understudy Stevens because I think he's a player based on what (admittedly quite little) I've seen.

And Dewhurst, same again, we'll hope he's going up the leagues next season, and hope he continues to follow the Henderson path, England's number one junior levels, well rated wherever he goes and he'll be in and around the team. He's at Carlisle so just Shrewsbury, Grimsby and us to go.

Great pod, I too am sort of flabbergasted, I sort of don't know what to do with myself.

That Berge signing is like we've ordered something from Amazon, cancelled it, but it got delivered anyway, and now we're waiting for someone to notice and send a threatening letter telling us to send it back haha

To avoid spreading misinformation on this - apparently he’s not even our first Zivkovic:

According to Denis Clareborough's Complete Records book, Lee didnt come on the field. I remember seeing him driving his car about in the Cherry Street car park and having a laugh with the other youth players. He can be seen in the below video (the glum ball boy on the left just after David Hirst scored the equaliser (4 mins 10 secs)

Everybody - I think we’ve hit Peak Silent. That is outrageous knowledge.

👏
