50 years ago and Currie was about 17 at Watford and could only dream of European and international football at that point.

I’d also be willing to bet that not a soul in the ground on his debut had given a thought to Europe - apart from holidays that is...

Cheaper than Sander Berge

how times have changed

onwards and upwards fellow

Should we assume that you have researched historical exchange rates to the day and hour and come up with that statistic?

Or is it just bollocks?🤔

Well blow me down with feather. Something costing more in 2020 than the 1960's must admit I never saw it coming.

European holidays?
Seeing a banana in the supermarket was a special thing in the 70s.

I thought everyone shopped on the high street in those days. All wearing brown and orange tank tops with billowing denim.

That is mostly true however (and you'll need to have lived in the area (Hunter's Bar) to appreciate this) we had a Co-Op, and Challenge near by and I remember the arrival of Tesco at Berkley Precinct (next to the Potted Meat Factory).

In my young day, there’d never have been a Co-op at Hunter’s Bar, my Gran would never have allowed it...

Not in modern 70's Sheffield. Everything we ate was out of a tin. My favourite dinner was tinned steak and kidney pudding, tinned potatoes and tinned peas, few slices of gravy washed down with the juice from tinned fruit salad if you'd behaved. Even though I went to Castle College for catering I didn't see a real tuna steak until I was 22 & got the piss taken out of me by the head chef as I was expecting a tin of tuna turned out on the plate! Don't buy tinned tuna now for obvious reasons
