Had a quick search on the forum and can't see anything about his omission from the last 2 matchday squads. Is the lad on his way out? I've not heard anything in regards to an injury. Our bench does look very weak in midfield/creative sense without him.

I do feel sorry for the guy if he does leave, because of the form of Fleck and the fact we've not been chasing as many games as we'd have expected he's hardly had a look in. I think if he had the opportunity he would have done well for us.

We are seriously short on creativity in midfield off the bench now, surely we need to get somebody in to fill this void even if its just a short term deal til the end of the season.

I hope Freeman stays - I think he could do a really good job in the McG role if given a go there.
There’s a fair chance Fleck might be off at the end of the season so if I were him I’d wait to see if that happens before doing anything rash. Particularly when I’ve only been at the club for a few months, playing in a league higher than I’ve been playing in and when my options are likely to be a return to the championship.

Heard a rumour wasn’t named in squad for Arsenal game so refused to travel & wasn’t in squad last night either , there’s also supposed interest from the club 30 miles up the road ?

Don't usually engage in rumours but there's definitely something going off when Kieron Freeman is on the bench, he was nowhere near it for the majority of the season and his cup performances shouldn't have got him any closer.

Hope he doesn't go but seems like he will.

Personally will be gutted if he goes , there’s no doubting the lads quality been a top quality championship midfielder, but with the form of the midfield hasn’t really had a look in , agree re cup performances but I think it’s difficult when your not getting a consistent run of games . As said above I think Fleck will have attracted more than a few suitors this season & he would be the logical replacement

Perhaps it's nothing more than a clerical error? Someone typed a K instead of an L

Very sad if true. I can fully understand where his head maybe if he's feeling like this move hasn't really paid off for him and he isn't wanting to wait for his chance. That midfield has been playing at a ridiculously high level all season so he's not gotten a fair amount of game time to prove himself.
That said, refusing to travel isn't the way to respond and for me it would mean he doesn't have the right mentality at this point in his career for our club, so ultimately he needs to move on.
Again, if true, I hope the management team have spoken to him, highlighted his responsibilities and offered a way back into the squad, but if he's hardened his position then he'd be playing for Leeds in February, so long as they come up with the money we want.
Things don't always work out how you'd like them to, even with the best of intentions from all parties. You just have to accept that it no longer works for you and move on.
I'd guess if he doesn't play Saturday and isn't confirmed as injured then we'd have a better indication of where we are.

or maybe Baldock was carrying a knock ?

PS everyone Leeds don't have a pot to p1ss in BTW, they are trying to get Che Adams on loan with a promise of some jam tomorrow.
Obvs been told where to go by the Saints.

Hope so, I think Freezy is quality. Don't want him to go, think he's deserved more time personally.
What exactly has he done to deserve more time? Because more time for him means less time for Fleck, a player who has genuinely earned his place. The last time Freeman played he got hooked for Osborn because he wasn’t playing well.

Well at the beginning of the season he was playing really well, and was dropped for Fleck and I thought it was pretty harsh at the time, some others did too.

Think playing with the first team he's shown himself to be a decent option. We've never tried him behind a striker either, could do a job there you'd think.

He was playing OK, not as well as Fleck. To dislodge a key first team player you have to be noticeably better. He wasn’t.
He’s not good enough to justify changing a formation that has taken us to 8th just to accommodate him. If he isn’t willing to even give it a season to fight for a place in the team and prove he’s good enough to play in the PL regularly he can fuck off back to the championship for me. Although I doubt that’s the case. If he was kicking off (in the wrong way) then Wilder would just list him and get rid.

It’s not just a case of dislodging a first choice player but also being given more time off the bench. I think he could understand that Fleck got his place back but maybe felt his performances while playing, warranted a few more opportunities and time off the bench. He seemed to get largely ignored and still does. It seems as though CW has some go to players no matter what and Luke isn’t one of them.

He was a regular on the bench and in a lot of games we’ve been trying to hold on to a narrow lead or protect a hard fought draw. You wouldn’t bring him on for Fleck in those scenarios. He’s only just stopped being on the bench, hence the panic, rumours, noise and nonsense.

The 'go-to' formation when chasing games is 4-4-2, with the midfield 4 playing as a diamond. Robinson has come on as the top of the diamond last two games but for me Freeman would have been the better person in that role last two games, especially arsenal away. Robinson did ok imo, but freeman behind a front two would be a very positive option.

I think he'd have been a decent replacement when hanging on in games and replacing a forward, but he and us cant really complain as they way we've gone about things has nearly got us to safety already.

Might see a bit of a different style over the last 10 games of the season, a little more attacking from the outset

He doesn’t just have to come on for Fleck. He could have been used instead of bringing on Billy. He is better at holding the Ball up and creating something but he seems to be the 4th choice ‘attacking/midfield’ option, which means we don’t see him

There have been a few occasions where we've brought extra strikers on and Robsinon or McGoldrick have dropped into midfield. Freeman has often been on the bench and I have wondered why we didn't bring him on instead.

He’s not really a striker though. I don’t agree he’s better with his back to goal than Billy. Although Wilder and Knill have probably had similar thoughts and discussions.

He’s got a contract and we need him as cover. If he wants to be in the team, he needs to work hard and wait for his chance. Not as if the lads on the pitch aren’t getting results.

To be fair, this is pretty much what he said recently in an interview.

He said it after the cup game.

He may feature at Millwall this weekend I reckon.
