Get the ressys out and spend Saturday afternoon with the missus

Well, let's imagine we squeeze past Millwall, get Spuds at home in the 5th and have 39 points by then.

Would this switch it up a bit?

Exactly how I think Tufty is looking at it, get through this one, we've then got 4 fixtures before the next round.

I believe the 5th round fixtures are midweek

No way will we be in a relegation scrap this season.
It’s unlikely but not impossible when the bottom teams keep making Terminator like comebacks. Bournemouth looked doomed last weekend but twatted Brighton last night. Look at the fixtures and imagine we have a bad day against Brighton, Norwich or Bournemouth, and get mugged by one of them. I don’t think it will happen but it could, especially if we lose a couple of first team players to injury or suspension.
I doubt Wilder will let complacency set in but if he picked the reserves for Millwall I wouldn’t complain. The likelihood of us getting relegated is still greater than the likelihood of us winning the Cup.

We need to put out a slightly stronger team than last time out. Of the usual first teamers I think we will play:
Basham
Norwood
Lundstram
McBurnie

Would quite like Baldock to play if fit enough as the drop off in quality when Freeman plays is too great. Quite looking forward to the game given we are looking comfortable in the league at the moment, we can give it a good go.

I really hope we put a strong side out Saturday, not everyone, just make 3 or 4 changes, that way we should keep our rhythm

I'd go

Verrips/moore

K freeman
Bash
Jags
Joc
Stevens

Fleck
Besic
Lundstram

Mousset
Sharp

I’d like to see us play the first XI, but I don’t think Wilder will pick that team. If someone is carrying a knock, then fair enough rest him, but other than that pick the strongest team possible.

J Robinson cup tied? Otherwise play him?
C Robinson to play. Think Sharp will. Can see Rodwell playing too.

Wilder said last night in a post match interview that he intends to put a strong( his word) team out for millwall as he wants a good run in the cup. ⚔️⚔️⚔️

Love me some stone cold hard facts in a morning
Did I say it was a fact? I can do the fact of how many clubs that aren’t the rich six have won the cup in the last 30 years to support the argument that it’s highly unlikely we’ll win it but I’ve done it twice and I can’t be arsed anymore. I certainly can’t be arsed to go through the tables to see if anyone has been on 33 points after 24 games and gone down but I do know that 33 won’t keep us up.

Everyone can see the effects of the Christmas period on our players. Why keep flogging them to chase a fanciful dream of winning the FA Cup when we’re not safe in the league? The consequences of relegation would be severe. The consequences of not winning the FA Cup are negligible.

I’d love to see us win the FA Cup but I don’t think it’s realistic this season and I don’t expect us to risk relegation chasing it. It’s only two years ago that our whole season was derailed by an injury to one player.

I agree that some of the squad need competitive match time, but the club still needs a win to bolster confidence.
After our recent fixtures, some first team players might be relieved to get an easier game, but fringe players need to prove themselves.
I wouldn’t risk McGoldrick in a game like this, but Billy will probably enjoy it.
A win is better for us, but I don’t think the cup is important to us yet. Rest the weary and get game time for those who need it.
Sharp to drag the lads through by example.

Mate I wasn't being sarcastic. I wholeheartedly agree with your opinion.

Verrips, Baldock, Basham, Jagielka, J. Robinson, Osborn, Besic, Norwood, L. Freeman, Robinson, Sharp.

Subs: McBurnie, Mousset, Fleck, Lundstram, Stevens, Egan, Henderson.

A strong bench if required & a mix of first team & fringe players.

You know this how ? Can you please let me know the winning lottery numbers for this week, thanks.😉
Or better still put a few quid on us to go down and fill your boots. Currently 150/1 with bet365. Not a dig by the way mate cus it’s all about opinions.

Stranger things have happened but I’m as certain as I can be that taking the fa cup seriously won’t run the risk of us getting relegated this season
