Mcburnie that first half

McBurnie was our man of the match today. Well Henderson aside. His best performance of the season. A complete centre forward display.

Also thought Billy had his best game of the season too. The way he held the ball up at times tonight was superb

If thats the level he can play at then Wilders got himself a cracking center forward.
Skillful, energetic, strong, inteligent with the ball, dominant in the air and just generally looked an absolute menace.

We'll have some o that

He’ll be a work in progress for a season or so but plenty there to work with. Let’s hope he gets his head down and we will have a very good player on our hands.

They were both outstanding in the first half, the only thing they didn't do was shoot!

Can sometimes be difficult to get that little half a yard to get a shot off but I what you mean, just wish we’d let a shot off at times though.

One I remember is the Moose back heel in the second half. Could have laid it off to Fleck to hit.

If only he could score a few more goals!

Have to say that he has upped his overall game.

He was superb wasn’t he! Deft touch’s, strength and vision. Just missing a goal and it would have been a perfect performance.

he’s really growing into his role and for me at his age, he’ll only get better and better.

He wins headers. For sure. That cuts you muchos slack in these ere parts 😉.

And while his performances are improved, it’s still a ways off being a complete CF performance. Sorry.

His speed of thought and “twitch” reactions are simply no where near PL standard. And it shows. Consistently does a “Leon” and is static when moving towards the ball to receive would prevent the defender getting in front. Needs to work (hard) on this aspect of his game.

Is annoyingly and consistently missing the best chances that we make. Mostly due to what I state above.

Reasons for optimism for sure. But don’t get carried away just yet.

Looking much stronger and better in the he air, as well as working harder and putting himself about. And he can play. Starting to look good to me

I think we should keep the billy and mcburnie partnership for the next league game, definitely something there

I think it depends how high/deep the opposition defend. Billy looked useful 1st half when they were pegged back but less so when they were up the pitch.

He was excellent today. His awareness of what was around him was excellent. He showed real ability on the ground and in the air. He is young too. He will only get better. Besic was v good. The whole team was superb, despite the loss.
The German's were v impressed with Sharpe's movement and general play. Not sure his legs have gone as some on here think.

He did so much more than just win headers tonight. Some lovely link up play. He made something out of almost every nothing ball we chucked up to him, whether on the deck or in the air.

It's also nonsense to say he misses our best chances. His finishing has been very good this season. At least 3/5 of his goals have been far from straightforward finishes & he's won us several points.

I respect your opinions, but I think you seem to have a bit of a prejudice against McBurnie. People say the same about me with Norwood though. Each to their own.

He's already a very good penalty box striker imo, I've no worries about that side of his game going forward. If he produces in his all round game the levels he showed tonight he's got the potential to lead the line for a top half team for many years to come

All our strikers look decent, and offer different things, but it's hard to see any of them netting 15 goals a year in the Prem. I guess that's why they're not £80m players and we will have to keep trying to develop them.

Billy and McBurnie were both awesome tonight, Billy had their defences arseholes twitching and some of Oli's hold up play, knockdowns, and spreading balls about was sublime. Unfortunately when you're up against the likes of Rodri, Fernandinho and Laporte it's not always gonna come off

Nonsense you say ?

I respect your opinion too. But would urge you to take a closer look.

Im not wrong !!

Like I say, performances are much improved and he is winning me over. Played well toneet, but isn’t the finished article many suggest.

Kun is complete. Oli, isn’t 😉.

Just need to get him on the Nurishment milkshakes now, bulk him out.

Sharp played well, mcburnie was better.

Suck on those apricots.

Was a great performance from McBurnie, considering who he was playing against. Some great battles between him and Fernandinho.
