More international recognition for our squad imminent?
Sheffield United full-back George Baldock is wanted by the Greek national team after his impressive first season in the Premier League.
The 26-year-old qualifies for John Van’t Chip’s team through his grandmother and has been targeted to be part of their World Cup qualifying campaign for 2022.
Baldock has started every league game so far this season as Sheffield United mounted a surprise tilt at European qualification.
Gareth Southgate has watched Chris Wilder’s team regularly and is aware of Baldock’s form at right-back but has Trent Alexander Arnold and Kieran Trippier currently in his squad, Kyle Walker waiting in the wings and Aaron Wan-Bissaka coming through at Under-21 level. Reece James has also impressed at Chelsea.
