Arteta will be moaning in the 4th officials ear.
Arteta tried to get the obvious red card removed, after he said Aubameyang was sad for getting a red card.
He should have been happy he didn't break the guy's ankle.

Booked Norwood within two minutes for nowt much. Made a rod for his own back. Last two games I remember him refereeing on a game featuring United are the Rotherham game at the Lane under Clough when we beat them with our kids.In that game he gave us a last minute pen for holding on Maguire. He also reffed the Bolton game at home in the league one promotion season in which we got a dubious pen for a foul on Caruthers.

Not seen it, but radio made it sound it was a heavy challenge. If it's a bookable offence it's a bookable offence, the biggest thing that annoys me about refs is the inconsistency they have whereby GBH is legal for 60-65 minutes then a switch gets flicked and every foul then results in a yellow card

There's been other fouls in the match by Arsenal players (Xhaka, Torreira) that haven't produced a yellow. It was also Norwood's first foulvso there's no question of an accumulation of fouls.

What do either of those points have to do with what I posted?

I thought it was a clear yellow to be fair.

I think he's ok as far as we're concerned. He clearly enjoys being something of a celebrity, but don't have any problem with his recent games involving us. There are far worse referees than MD.

Thought he was very good today. Tried to let the game go on and played plenty of advantages to both sides.

Let plenty of hard challenges go as well
Definitely the most competent ref in the Premier League. Let the game flow and didn’t get drawn into blowing for slightly physical challenges for both sides.

So after this season he’ll ref a Champions League Semi or Final, retire, join the VAR squad and lose his mind !

Ha ha yeah that sounds about right!

One of the better referees in the Prem, I don't think Warnock/Blackwell helped us in our earlier dealings with him.

Welcome back to the new season at BDTBL on Monday, Mike. Great place to start the show at.

I hope he gives us a dramatic penalty. 👈🏻

Anyone seen a video of him giving us that dramatic last minute goal kick v Arsenal? I remember celebrating that like a goal as I knew then we’d done it!
