Bottom 3

Fellow Blades,I give you the bottom 3......Aston Villa, Bournemouth and poor little Norwich

Agreed, for a flash bastard he doesn't half put a shift in.

There's a mutual appreciation between Grealish and Wilder, and he'd do well in our team. However, there's not a chance in hell we could afford him, even in the likes of Manchester United, Spurs and Chelsea didn't come in for him. Not sure why he keeps getting mentioned as a possibility (I appreciate some of it is merely hypothetical).

Firstly, congrats on your win at ours recently. Thoroughly deserved. I wonder how many other teams have had "off days" when they've played you? It really is a credit to how well Wilder has you playing and as a result nullifying the opposition.

Sadly I agree with this prediction, although don't think we'll collapse with quite the epic proportions we did last season. This season the bottom seems more competitive and while we continue to field the likes of Webster (aka the worst CB to ever play in the top flight) and make stupid mistakes whilst being featherweight in the final third it's going to be a close run thing. That said, I am for the most part enjoying our performances far more than last season where we played a more regimented sit-in defence.

Norwich look like they're getting rooted now, and I can't see them making up the deficit.
Bournemouth have been massively unfortunate with injuries. Many of their more winnable fixtures appear to be sooner with a hellish run-in, though Smug-Eddie won't let them drop without a fight I'm sure.
Then it's a toss up between us and Villa. Though I expect Villa may well throw some more crazy money at it in the next couple of weeks. For me/us it's a relegation six pointer when we host them next weekend. Sadly I think most of our lot are somewhat oblivious to our current predicament. Hope I'm wrong!

I think you'll be alright; I watch a lot of football and think there's half a dozen teams worse than BHA. You may have to play a slightly more prosaic brand of football to what we're accustomed to seeing though, and utilise Murray or another big man more. The build ups are too slow at times and can mean you are your own worse enemy when getting pressed. You should be fine with that squad which is more balanced than a lot of the bottom half.

Dean Smith at villa will be gone soon. New manager might get them fighting though I'm hoping it'll be too late by then.

Burnley and West Ham especially could get dragged into the bottom three quite easily, WHU haven't met the Liverpool machine at all yet which is not a good sign for them.
Well, we're actually aiming to beat them home & away.
I'm heavily medicated, btw.

I look at some of the players we've got & know how potentially how good they are/can be.
I then look at the remaining fixture list & think, 'oh fucking 'ell..no chance'.
I'll be honest, I think many of us are past caring..

Webster the worse CB? Have you not seen Norwich fielding grant Hanley!?

I really can’t see you going down, I hope not anyway always liked Brighton.

I think people are writing Bournemouth too soon. They have a history of going on long bad runs only to then go on a winning streak. Must admit with all their injuries it might be different this time

Hard to pick 3 as some teams are getting pulled into it.

Norwich and villa to drop leaving the next two to fight it out of the last day

Burnley - having too many off days and their bounce back victories seem to be on the decline.

brighton - think their manager is too principled even though his principles seem to have stopped working

Can anyone remember what our odds to stay up were at the start of the season? We are now 100-1 to be relegated :)

YOU'RE FUCKING SAFE!!!
You obviously have not followed SUFC too closely over the years if any team could manage to get relegated when 6th after 22 games it is us. I doubt many would say we are safe with 100% conviction, we leave it to the pigs to say they will do this, that and the other. It usually doesn't happen and they end up with egg on their faces while we just laugh.

Times have changed mate, this is not a 'team' like any we have seen for a long long time. I know you have seen as much of this managment team, and group of players as I have in recent years, so you must have recognised the change?

Seriously, do you really think we are remotely in danger of going down? It would not only take a catastrophic collapse in our own form [we would barely win a game between now and the end of the season] along with at least half a dozen teams all increasing their points per game tally by a huge amount.

It ain't happening. FFS, even VAR has tried it's best [with us being top of the screwed over chart] and still we thrive.

Well yeah looking at this thread no one thinks we will be relegated but no one is shouting it out from the tree tops either it's not our style. Let the pigs, Leeds scum etc shout what they are going to do all the funnier when they fall on their faces.

I hope villa (up shit creek money wise unless they went up, they did, didnt learn their lesson and spunked £140million)

West Ham - obvious reasons

Unfortunately I can’t see Norwich staying up though I’d like them to, at least they gave it a go with the players that got them up

even when norwich went up you could see their problem
yes they won the title but were winning games 4-3 and 3-2 and always 3-3 draws
now up against better defences but their defence is just as leaky if not worse
they won at villa on the last day as villa rested half the team for the play offs

west ham are desperate for fighters, they are in a dog fight and are top heavy with fancy dans
Villa as seen v man city are a disaster at the back, have a lot of individual talent but very little group cohesiveness
Bournemouth have that haunted look of lack of confidence and a feeling of all the injuries are sending them down
watford saints and newcastle can score goals so can pull clear with toon capable of being in danger most as they can also fail at home
Brighton have a good up coming manager in Potter and Id like to see them stay up

Norwich villa and Bournemouth. Out of the ones we could realistically sign I’d take Ramsdale, Lerma, Billing and El ghazi

I'd be very worried if I were a West Ham fan. Their fixtures over the next few weeks are about as bad as you could get:

Everton - Home
Leicester - Away
Liverpool - Home
Brighton - Home
Man City - Away
Liverpool - Away
Southampton - Home
Arsenal - Away
Wolves - Home
Tottenham - Away
Chelsea - Home

Other than the Everton & possibly Brighton games, I don't see them picking up a single win out of these - the Chelsea game being on April 4th leaves them just 6 games to pick up as many points as possible. They're only 1 point above Villa & 2 above Bournemouth as it stands.

I'm not writing Bournemouth off just yet either. They look an awful side, but they have a run of fixtures that could absolutely save their season.

Norwich - Away
Brighton - Home
Villa - Away
Us - Away
Burnley - Away

Couple of winnable games here could see them a few points clear of the bottom three. Are they good enough to do it? Perhaps not, but it's in their hands at least.

Edit: just realised, last game of the season - West Ham vs Villa & Burnley vs Brighton. This could go to the wire!

West ham are at Everton and Leicester then home to Liverpool in their next 3

It's worse than that, check out their next 11. All of the top 4 including Liverpool TWICE, Arsenal and Spurs both away and a 6 pointer against Brighton. They could be 2nd bottom and cut adrift by end of March. (Hopefully).

Having seen those fixtures, i'm going with

18. Aston Villa/Bournemouth
19. West Ham
20. Norwich
