McBurnie In away end

Mcb did nothing wrong wearing daft clothes going out with his mates and singing songs in the away end supporting his ex team mates.

But whether we like it or not he can not act like a normal fan. As a professional footballer he has to follow a code of conduct when he is inside a football stadium whether he is on the pitch or in the stands. The moment he made the obscene gesture to the Cardiff fans he let himself open to a charge of being in breach of that code and bringing the game into disrepute. Harsh but thats how the football authorities operate.

At the same time it gives an opportunity to those who wish to besmirch the good name of SUFC to jump on the bandwagon. Daily Fail couldn't wait to get the story out, we did beat their boys on Friday and McB scored the winner. Others have quickly followed including Sky Sports who are pressing the FA for comment. Funny how Sky Sports hardly ever give us a mention on their daily transfer news programme but get a sniff of controversy and they are all over it. Hopefully not much will come of it and Mcb will be reminded of his responsibilities when out in the Public domain. Unfortunately if a charge and reprimand follow then his card will be marked by both the FA and press as to future conduct.

A clip round the ear from CW and a quiet word from Kevin Cookson Communications Manager should suffice should this go any further but his mates could help by not advertising on social media every time he's out on the town.

I don't know, his attire seemed like a crime against fashion to me.

Wanker signs are fine but no one should be wandering around dressed like Bez from the Happy Mondays well other than Bez.

This incident has opened my eyes about how snowflakey our fans are.

Who the fuck cares what he does on an obvious off day having a day out with his mates. When Walker and Maguire do it coming to watch us it's great. He doesn't need social media training or any of that bollocks, he's one of the rare footballers who doesn't try and hide who he is. Fair play to him, fuck all the middle age twats who think otherwise.

Mate Walker and Maguire kept their nut down, not stood in a gold coat giving it the big un. It was also when we were in the lower leagues.

It’s immaterial whether you think it’s unfair criticism or correct, if people didn’t think this would make the papers they must live on the moon.

Gary Neville
@GNev2

That’s a disgrace
Goes with being a Blade. We are all a disgrace apparently.

Neville may need to be a bit careful as it won't be the first time he's annoyed his employers. Was only last week he was takling about racism and the co-presenter had to apologise and say Gary's views don't represent that of Sky.

Because the British press never ever blow things out of proportion do they?

He was pictured doing similar in the QPR away end a few months ago and nothing came of that so i cant see anything coming of this tbh.
I saw that too, and thought at the time someone from the club should have had a quiet word with him.

Hopefully all this negative publicity will lead to CW having a word with McBurnie..... or even the pillock himself will have a sudden realization that he needs to curb his off the field activities and concentrate on making a success of his career, rather than acting the twat!

Not working for the government or the Royal family.

I'd suggest it's got Fuck all to the with the FA or Sky what he does on the terrces in his capacity as a fan.

As long as he's not breaking the law, who cares. They don't have the right to pry into his private life like that in my view.

Unfortunatly for him he's employed in that business.

They sacked a prem ref for a tweet showing a guy with a walking disability and the comment 'might win the sports day Dad's race'.

As much as the worlds gone mad don't be supprised if they hammer him for it.
Six week/six game ban?

Nevilles right by the way.

As a Cardiff fan The only thig I find offensive is his jacket
😁
. Its a derby football match, we were giving as much as they were. Let people enjoy the game or like the game itself are we going to be trial by video from now on.

It's called VAR mate.

He can do what he wants within reason on his day off I think, however if he brings the club into the press negatively then that’s not on. The amount of noise on this either way is a distraction that is now in the national press. I personally would have thought the drink driving charge would have meant he kept a quieter public image. Trust CW to sort this out is my view but I hope he does have a word.

Not sure why he needs to have a word, well aside from his dress sense as others have pointed out

''Yr'Honour - I genuinely thought the Cardiff fans were asking what my favourite 80's coffee was - I was of course mimicking Gareth Hunt's famous 'bean shaking' manoeuvre to explain I rated Nescafe above Mellow Birds. As they were so far away and probably had problems seeing me, I did it with both hands''.

Case closed, and he owes me a Tela Placcata Bicolore jacket in XXL, thankingyou.

I’ve got no problem with him I think it’s refreshing but to those saying blades love it when former players watch us but not McBurnie, the likes of Kyle Walker and Harry Maguire kept their nut down even none footballers like Kell brook sit in the away end and support the lads not giving out wanker signs and dressed like a cunt other than that GLTTL

I love Oli and I think he's already proving what a player he will be with us. I have no problem with him watching Swansea from time to time but I'd also like to think Wilder will have a quiet word over this, solely because he just needs to let his football do the talking. I'm sure this will blow over and the lads in the dressing room also seem to police the group also. I don't think what he's done is a disgrace or anything like that, he just needs to understand that whilst in the public eye his behavior will always be scrutinised. Marc McNulty used to get similar criticism but I think he also seems to have matured and he's had a decent career.

Gary Neville is bigger than Sky, I think he's the Martin Brundle of British football coverage.

If he falls out with Sky, BT will build their channel around him like Sky F1 did with Brundle.

I always thought he was good, but now he's being outspoken I think he's outstanding.

Need to encourage it.

A proper loose cannon.
Drink driving
Obscene gestures
Average forward

Will Wilder put up with it?
Why is he a loose cannon?
He denies drink driving
Obscene gestures (course you've never made the wanker sign)
Average he was head and shoulders best forward v Wet Spam.

The lad is 23 he's out with his mates probably had a drink is he not allowed, okay moderate behaviour a wee bit possibly but society today is full of girlie doo gooders. What he's doing is tame to what I imagine most 23 year olds do at a game, and definitely tame to what we did at that age.

I don't imagine saying Oli you can't watch Swansea no more I'm putting you in a monastery after every game, that way people cannot jump to silly conclusions about you on saying that wish he didn't dress like a Happy Monday's reject.
