Afternoon all,

Roygbiv and I attempt to dissect everything that happened in yesterday's game, including (of course) the controversial incidents, the brilliant bits of play by us, the fact we probably should actually have beaten the defending champions, and a performance for the ages by John Fleck.

Hope you enjoy - personally feel a lot of pride after watching that yesterday, even with the inevitable anger/frustration. Finally, a happy new year to you all!

This popped up on car play so just listened to 45 mins on the way home from a game of golf!

The ranking of the decisions for me is in line with Ben, Shelvey goal, Aguero goal then Lundstram goal. 2 of them could literally only happen to us.

With the appalling freak of nature refereeing I'd say the Colombia shirt was worn during a non regulation game and it's powers should not be questioned.

This is my reasoning. Last night wasn't a fair match to judge it in. The power of the referees being on City's side overpowered the Colombia effect

Great pod. Really enjoyed that. I think it was one of those games that I would have been more annoyed if I had watched on TV/at home. At the game it was all a bit surreal but you are kind of immersed in it. I think the Xmas tree would have gone over if I'd have watched from home.

I watched it with my dad and he’s normally pretty mild when he watches football. He wasn’t last night.

My Wife , who knows fuck all about football, was watching it inbetween being on her phone etc, and even she couldnt believe how the match unfolded with the VAR calls. She thought it was crazy! And we were hard done by. And believe me, she really has little interest in football! It shows though how dumb this whole VAR thing is
