Two incredibly tough away games - short turnaround between them - will likely require a deal of squad rotation to freshen the legs over these two games.

At the start of the season we would be ecstatic at getting anything from these games. Do you think CW/AK will send the top notch line up out against City and then make changes for L'pool? (Perhaps best chance of points given City turnaround & suspensions/injuries)

Or will he try to send two equal strength teams (with changes to our line ups in both games) so as to be viewed even handed?
Would he care?

Strangely enough I think our best chance of a result is at Anfield with our best 11 playing.

But in CW we trust.

All we can do is continue to be sensible. We aren't going to write off any game but if there's a player that needs resting then it should be in the next two games. Calculations have probably changed a little with City having played 80 minute with ten men and so little time to recover. I wouldn't change more than a couple for either but that would be a decent way to freshen up the team.

I think we’ll make 3 changes from one starting lineup to the other – both strikers, and 1 midfielder.

I think we play as close to our strongest side for both but make sensible sub changes.

Could do worse than send the first 11 to Spain for some R&R for a week and play this begging for game time vs Flyde.

It's not exactly worked a treat rotating a lot but Moore, Freeman, Jags, Stearman, Bryan, Osborn, Besic, Freeman, Morrison, Sharp, Robinson and Clarke have all played few minutes recently.

Let them take on the cup game and the U23s on the bench and let the rest put their feet up.

Play the strongest side for every game which suits that game.

I presume from what Wilder has said that there are one or two that are fatigued and probably need a rest, so it rules them out
And i also expect us to play a slightly different front two to try and play the counter a bit more.

I'd guess we'll go with a similar set up to how we played away at Everton.

Would rather see Man City win over Liverpool

However when we’re in the mix I’d rather just give it a go for both and what will be will be

Target both. Can't believe we'd do otherwise!

Both Man City and Liverpool must be exhausted. Liverpool with their crazy schedule and Man City playing 48 hours after playing most of a gane with 10 men

Play you best team for each match.

If someone looks knackered them take them out of the firing line and give them a breather if necessary, that's the reason for the squad.

Whilst I get the opinion of some that say we should make wholesale changes for one or both these games, we have to protect our goal difference too, as we don't want this hammering. Go and have a right go at both of em, and if we come unstuck then so be it. Get them back home and recuperating for the next game asap.

I’d love it if we beat either but nothing more so than Liverpool if we were their only loss on the season I would love it.

Give it a go , but I’d be surprised 😮 if we get anything from England's best 2 teams over the last few years
I also said I’d be happy with 10 points from our last 5 games , I thought we’d draw with barcodes
( because of there non football ⚽️ ways ) and lose at Brighton
I saw 2 games yesterday and all 4 teams , would struggle to live with us if where on our game , and I’d be looking for 8-10 points from
Brighton / Bournemouth/ Norwich and Spurs

Fuck it, let's just win both!

COME ON WIZARDS!!!!

You can guarantee Wilder and Knill will be targeting six points. None of this “protect the point we start with” shit that Clough and Adkins wittered on about.

Today is a funny fixture City attack relentlessly but, as susceptible to the counter attack and we could hurt them. I' have to say we have to watch Sterling for all his talent loves to dive and gets results, City have lost a lot of their immortality and turned human I can see Pep offing his toddle pop at season end.

I'd take a draw win would be great just not a drubbing, I'd love a flukey win at Anfield like they got at BDTBL.

Clearly two incredibly tough games we really expect to lose, if by some good fortune and great play we can pick anything up from these two would be fabulous

Both teams will have tired legs and players carrying a niggle etc but bloody hell these guys have international players as squad back ups!

Looking forward to seeing just how far the great spirit and organisation of our "team" can combat the star players in the opposition.

Two games for Hendo to show Southgate just how good he is?

Not exactly news to a lot of us but on the fatigue/tiredness side of things. I was speaking to my mate who works in the medical department, he said they're a number of players who are right on the edge of muscle injury from fatigue. But CW doesn't want to change the team if he can get the same 11 out (why would he) but he's going against a lot of the medical advice. His assumption was that CW doesn't fancy many of the other squad players to perform to the same levels, whether that's quality wise or fitness wise I don't know. Edit: he also said Jack Rodwell was posting some of the highest numbers fitness wise from all the players. That includes the pre season data as well.
