I think this is an appalling thing to say personally. As a lifelong Blade I do not wish long term injury on any ex-player, least of all one who I rate alongside the great TC as one of the best, most exciting, young players I've ever seen in a Blades shirt. I was really looking forward to seeing him play again, ideally in a United shirt again, but if not, then it would have been great to see the lad playing at the Lane at the very least.
Whatever team we play, I want to see their best players pitting their wits against us. And Brooks is no exception. But to suggest that this is "good news" for United is not only bad form in a sporting sense, but it also suggests an inferiority complex where we are afraid of what might happen if they play their best players, and that doesn't sum up Sheffield United or the majority of our fans to me!
