He provided some amazing moments, I will never forget that performance at Hillsborough.

I don't know why some of our fans moan at the club cashing in on him, he never even nailed a place in our first team for a decent period of time so the money we got for him far exceeded his value to us as a squad player. The Norwood/Duffy/Fleck/Sharp/McGoldrick 5 was better than any other combination we had in the Championship/League 1.

Wales international David Brooks has further ankle surgery, with Bournemouth "quietly optimistic" he will play again this season.

I think this is an appalling thing to say personally. As a lifelong Blade I do not wish long term injury on any ex-player, least of all one who I rate alongside the great TC as one of the best, most exciting, young players I've ever seen in a Blades shirt. I was really looking forward to seeing him play again, ideally in a United shirt again, but if not, then it would have been great to see the lad playing at the Lane at the very least.

Whatever team we play, I want to see their best players pitting their wits against us. And Brooks is no exception. But to suggest that this is "good news" for United is not only bad form in a sporting sense, but it also suggests an inferiority complex where we are afraid of what might happen if they play their best players, and that doesn't sum up Sheffield United or the majority of our fans to me!

I find it a bizarre and tasteless article personally, yet somehow, I don't think the kid meant anything wrong by it - I think he's just...

Its tough for any player with an injury especially when that player was really starting to go places, hope he gets back before the end of the season.

Ankle ligament injury is what did for me. Had 'the best' German doctor operate on it. After the operation the ankle would just give way without warning usually when pushing off for a sprint. As a right back, not the best. I was told there was nothing wrong, it just stopped working properly. I was told recently by an 'expert' that ankle ligament damage can be very hard to repair back to 100% after injury. I hope he is ok as he is a real and rare talent.
