Robinson

Levels dropped again today. Agree, he was pretty useless. He picked up a bit in recent weeks though, so hopefully just another off day. Seems to spend a lot of time moaning about balls played into channels that he can't get to, rather than chasing the lost cause & gambling on a defensive error.
Which is something I’ve actually never seen Mousett not do. He chases everything and seems gutted when he can’t catch or create something from a through ball.

I was more suprised that he was brought on tbh. Thought the obvious swap would of been McBurnie ? . Anyway he did ok and could of had a couple of chances if he'd been picked out at the far side of the box. UTB

He offers more of the same - plenty of running and chasing down defenders

To be fair, had Didzy got his head up and squared the ball on both of his chances in the second half, Robinson gets 2 tap-ins.

He's a different player to Moose so comparing them is a bit harsh IMO. Let's not forget that he's also a natural winger playing in a side that don't employ wingers in their set-up.

Robinson is nesh. Just watch the replays - he pretends to close down but doesn’t. He sprints towards the player with the ball and then stops about 2 to 3 metres away, achieving nothing but getting his running stats up. He avoids contact. He is exactly like Hogan was last year.

The big chance when he could have had a tap in from Didzy he was offside for no reason.

If he wants to be a Blade he will have to grow a pair.

So if you pay £6m for someone, they're not allowed time to learn?

£6m in the PL, is the equivalent to around £250k in the championship, maybe similar to what we paid for Lundstram- who happens to be perfect example as to why we need to lst players develop and have patience.
Harsh. He'd have had a goal if either Lundstram or Didsy had picked out his run on the left. His neat touch also set that move up. He didn't look amazing, but I think we're still yet to see his best.

Also, if you reckon £6 million buys you instant impact at the Premier League, you're well off the mark.
Did what was needed for the team and to close the game out from the front

I'd just love to know how he keeps getting minutes. He just leaves me in disbelief with how shit and ineffective he is.
Any professional footballer from any league in the world could've come on yesterday and done as well and probably better than Robinson did yesterday.

Not much of a supporter if you call our players shit, are you?

Yeah, good point. Does that mean I have to take it all back about Sammon and Woolford?

Have you forgotten about his assist against Man U? I doubt that any player from any league could have done that.

Next time he wins some minutes, just watch what he does to 'chase' a long pass... He'll start off running in the complete wrong direction before going towards the ball. That's to ensure he doesn't actually get near the ball but does make it look like he's trying. Same scenario when it comes to closing and opponent down. He makes sure he arrives just after the event.

Yes I'd say about as effective as Stefan Scougall. He needs to study the book written by Didsy on how to close down and actually get stuck in..

Yep it sure looks like we have a new scapegoat 🤫

Tell me what I'm saying that's wrong? Tell me why I shouldn't discuss a United player's shortcomings on a United forum. What attributes am I not seeing. Genuinely interested.

3 starts and 5 appearances as a sub and he's got a thread criticising him, absolutely beggars belief.

So whatever happens when you've hardly played should be entirely written off?
I'll forget about Mousse and Luke Freeman's positive contributions earlier in the season then.
Don't forget that the starting position was Robinson's to lose and he's certainly done that.

Hogan was a devil for throwing his hands up in the air in frustration every time he didn't get the pass. He wasn't a dreadful player but he was very annoying as well as being a poor fit.

I have higher hopes for Robinson cos we've got him on a permanent so we can work on the defects.

Typical response when anyone responds to criticism is "so I can't criticise him then?".

You can criticise as much as you want, however you might want to see a bigger sample size before he's consigned to the 'not good enough' pile.

For what it's worth I don't think he's been anywhere near where we need him to be, except for the Chelsea game and the assist v Man Utd. However I'm not going to say he's not good enough because the vast majority of situations he has come into haven't been conducive to good attacking play. I can't even say that he'll come good but I'm going to see if he does before I say "he's shit".

Each to their own but I'm calling it early. He's a poor player.

My wife was born on Shoreham Street but has little football knowledge. Having said that I dare not repeat what she said about Robinson. :)
Maybe given time he will shape up, but he does need a rocket up his ass.

I'm prepared to give Robinson and mcburnie till next season to prove themselves ,if we stay up they e done their job and I'm sure there is a lot more to come from them
Give Wilder and knill a full pre season to get them fit and ready and let's see
