Had a £12m release clause that expired at the end of last season. Signed a 4 year contract a few weeks back which will make him very well paid. It will take some serious cash to get him unless he has another release clause but that will be much higher than £12m. More a wide forward than centre but we have played him CF this season, with very mixed results. He's nowhere near as good as Maupay but has his moments. Roy Hodgson went to the Stoke game to watch him (poor bloke)
How's the Prem - as good as 17th in the Champ you think?
2 goals for him at QPR live on Sky, taking him up to 10 goals.
Might be hard for us, this one.
Which means it's unlikely we will sign anymore championship players in the window , he is a good player but we need players who can come in and improve us in the areas CWAK will have identified straight away.I am sure when the Prince took over as sole owner (subject to appeal, of course), he said something like we would probably only be in for three players in the JTW, but they would be significant, or something like that? (I assume CW has spoken to him about who/what we need to keep us up?).

I dont think the comments about 3/4 players was directed at the JTW, It was next summer when we would go for 3/4 superstars if we stayed up to kick us on, it may however be my old age playing tricks on me
You are correct S5, here is what I saw, just found it again
"...On his ambitions, for the club Prince Abdullah said: “I think we need to improve step by step, we will not be able to qualify for the Champions League in one year but every year we stay we will be much better. This year we brought ten players – quality and quantity. Next year if we are in the Premier League we will be bringing two or three super players. We are optimistic that gradually it will be in a better position. Next year, the middle of the table, after - above that....”
If he sticks to his word then this statement fills me with unmeasurable excitement![]()

He’s missing the stepping stone of January.. I hope CW is backed come January or this plan may not be required..
Think we are short in a few places
I can measure my excitement on a 6 inch ruler (with an inch to spare)![]()
Maybe we can get the government to buy Shirecliffe for £200m too?I think we have to be very cautious about the players we bring in ,they have to fit into the team dynamic and ethos we need now to look at maximum 2\3 players per window ,who do we sign ? Do we look at 50 million a piece players ?
real Madrid had it right buying one galatico per window and got the academy producing a stream of players either good enough for the first team of as a revenue stream to purchase the players we need
As far as I am aware we have no royal connections other than Saudi one'sMaybe we can get the government to buy Shirecliffe for £200m too?
I would welcome one or two additions but to be honest if everyone stays fit and in consistent form I don’t see the point in spending for the sake of it. No one gets value in January, everyone is either panic buying or is buying a player at an over inflated price because of the time of year.
I think we’re doing just fine as we are. Perhaps a bit of cover in a couple of areas if we can pick up some potential from the Championship. I wouldn’t want to see us spending big money in January. It’s not needed.
Nothing new here as per usual from the Star.
