Not gonna whinge about Newcastle, we were average to poor for most of the game. Shit goal that Bash should’ve defended against a midget winger made it far more difficult than it needed to be. We’ll turn up against Norwich. Just one of them nights I guess.
 
Bashams effort for their first goal was awful, We need to be looking for a replacement ASAP.
Defence did not look as tight as it has done either.

Didn't we also score two goals at Everton but only have one shot on target according to the stats, or am I having a senior moment? NUFC came and did the perfect away team performance, nullify the known threat and soak up anything else...
 
One swallow doesn’t make a summer, remember his mistake against Leicester. He is our defensive weakest link.

Agree with this. Every stat you want to throw out there - possession, shots, shots conceded, xG, everything - has them as one of if not THE worst team in the league. But whatever they’re doing, it clearly works.

Odd game. We dominated the game in terms of possession and chances and got nothing from it. Newcastle were shithousing from the first minute.
 
Described them as a Frankenstein version of Newcastle, that’s down to Bruce who’s picking a wage up, it was like watching Wendy under Bruce, except they had enough to score a goal before playing with 9 at the back, the VAR debacle just finished everybody in the stadium off (except the newc fans) ..

A joke game but the away fans laughing as would we if it had been us with the points.
 
Can’t blame Newcastle tonight, we were slow getting the ball forward. Not for the first time Bruce has come to Bramall Lane and tactically flummoxed us.

The only comment to make is that I find it incredible that the bloke who threatened to take a team off the pitch for the opposition not giving the ball back didn’t ask his team to give us the ball back tonight.
 
Look they won’t care, arrived, defended for their lives, scored two goals, walked away with 3 points, that’s football sometimes
Move on to the next game , can we now get a result at Norwich
Nothing went for us tonight, accept it and move on
Sharpe looked off the pace, no threat in reality, would have been better to start with Robinson

I noticed that, didn't really have an effect on the overall result, but the brass neck on him to do it says everything about him.

Up there with Norwich for shithousery, time wasting, feigning injury and why the fuck that clueless ref let their last sub walk 50 yards across the pitch when he was 5 yards from the touchline summed up how little control he had of the game by that point
 
They did exactly what we should’ve done when we were winning at Wolves and 2-0 up vs Man Utd. Taught a lesson in top level shithousery tonight.
 
But it’s effective football, exactly the same way we played against Everton with the same result. We could have played until next week and not scored
 
Got to take my hat off to them, to be honest. They are not a very skillful team, but managed to shit house their way to a 2 - 0 win.

On paper, this was an easy home win because Newcastle are not a great side, but they did ok tonight.

We were due an off-night, happens to all clubs, we need to just get ready for the next few games.

Totally agree.....I kept thinking how poor and lacking in quality Newcastle were.
It was ultra negative tactics but it worked....credit to Bruce for knowing that without Mark Duffy or David Brooks we have no one who can pick the lock.
Also as already mentioned.....didn’t we do a similiar smash and grab like Newcastle did, when we beat Everton 2-0 earlier in the season.

Well we lost to Saints, Lestuh and L'pool, and I was disappointed, tonight I just feel disgust at their gamesmanship and tactics. You call it shithousing, but really leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.

What, players collapsing all over the pitch ? We were under the cosh at Everton but didn't resort to that shit
 
They won so we have to shut up.

I wouldn't want to play like that every week but its winning points so depends what you want 🤷‍♂️

We lost to other teams because of individual errors, tonight we lost (at least for the second goal) because we didn't play to the whistle.

Oh, and Andy Carroll won most of the in-air duels I saw, for the headers.

And yes mate, I call it "shithousing" because that is what they did, played the Ref like an old violin.

Plenty of games left and hopefully we have learned a lesson from this.
