Interesting developments at S6 and the mess their chairman finds himself in.......I heard tonight that some Wednesday fans are stating that they still would not swap McCabe and the Prince for Chansiri !?.
I did smile at that claim...but it does highlight just how fragile the margin between a well run club and stepping the wrong side of the line can be.
Who would have thought three years ago, that Wednesday seemingly on the brink of promotion to the prem and us languishing in league 1, that they would today, be on the brink of ruin and us at the gates of greatness?
I think personally, that Chansiri became obsessed with achieving success, at all costs with very little knowledge and know how and made some shocking decisions..........we also languished in league one for years, again based on poor executive decisions and managerial appointments...Robson followed by Atkins the worst examples.......but, to my knowledge, we didn’t try and bend the rules to improve, even when the temptation must have been apparent.
We have had a fairytale meteoric rise under Wilder, who has transformed our club, but it could have been oh so different and I really hope we take this once in a lifetime opportunity to establish the club in the premiership for years to come, avoiding the temptation to overspend and falling into the pit of debt and despair Wednesday now found themselves in, leading to some alleged creative accounting and the wrath of the league............to achieve that, a long term strategy by the Prince and the retention and personal satisfaction of Wilder is key.

Well they’ve today accused the EFL of sanctioning their ground sale, and as such this means they can’t be charged with anything and will sue the EFL!!!

Sounds like its going to get messy this.
Keep reading about a 21pt deduction - luvvly jubbly

They may have sanctioned the sale but you cannot backdate the transaction into previous years accounts. That’s .....thats not right, is it? Allegedly.

Think they have a point actually, sorry...... if other teams have been allowed to do it, why can’t they ? No consistency from the EFL, they sought permission, permission was granted. Cant change their mind after and say no sorry, this reminds me of a story of a welsh striker in a travelodge in Rhyl.

Oh dear. A poor post even before you drag up that old news. I suggest you do some research onto how other teams have done it vs the Pigs way. As for the 'changing of minds' from the EFL thats only the Tuna mans son's defence. Perhaps when the full facts came out the EFL had been mislead. We don't know right now.

Anybody else think those skid marks will get away with it?

Always get away with it - won’t be no different this time..

Hows it different? Bit hard to find the story as the stir is pay per view and every article i have seen seems rather brief. Have you got a link to the full story of how they have done it differently ? From what i have read they did the same as everyone else, and as for Ched, it was a light hearted joke about a 1 season wonder. Lighten up !

There are a few differences. But it appears the biggest is the way that they tried to backdate the sale to make it all above board... but then didn’t actually make the transfer of ownership

Read LenTedTony post about 2 up from your original post.

The sale of the ground was fine (£60 million a bit dodgy but there we go) but the backdating of the transaction to a previous years accounts is more than likely the sticking point.

Personally it sounds quite like the whole tevez bollox, one rule for some clubs, one rule for another, but I believe no matter what the outcome Wednesday have just put a big target on their backs for any future dealings with the FA and EFL, neither are going to forget this and unlike such as manure or chelski, Wednesday havnt got the clout to take on the EFL long term. An interesting few months/years ahead for Wednesday.

Why is it one rule for one and another rule for others?

Yet many on here still say McCabes running of our club was dire.

It's false accounting.

Forget about points deductions, those involved will be fortunate not to get their collars felt.

I still wonder how they actually managed to lose 58 million in one season, that is quite incredible, poor strategy of buying older players on £40k a week apparently.
Very short term gamble which has now failed, never mind 😂
Also ruining the fan base by charging £40 a ticket to sit on the kop, all very bizzare, and out of touch
Never mind, onwards and upwards for us

They didn't lose 58 million in 2017-18. Just a trifling £35.6m.

In that season their wage bill was almost double ours.

its not the sale of there ground, its becauce they want the payment over seven years, but put the payment up front. maybe thats what they do in his country but not here. they will not get away with this con

Turn the place back into a piggery and put tango in charge 😂 problem then is telling him apart from the livestock
