To be fair they are mostly right. They probably could have gone and won it, we did commit a lot of fouls (unusual though), and Baldock probably should have gone. I don't think the ref did a lot else wrong though, their fans seemed to get on the officials back because of a couple of throw in calls that went against them but they looked spot on to me.

Couldn’t believe Yorkshiremen were so touchy.”

He's mixing us up with Jimmy Saville there.

More feely than touchy.

The Pulis comparison is a belter though.

I love all fans who believe that a brief moment in time makes them the arbiters of football style (many of ours have been falling into this trap). So I'll play the same card. This is a club who were managed for most of the last dozen seasons by Mick McCarthy and Kenny Jackett with a brief mind-numbing flirtation with Dean Saunders. Prior to Nuno many Wolves fans continually called for Allardyce.

And some of their number would like to lecture others on style?

It looked like their fans were rocking up to a Slade reunion ,I thought Chesterfield was in a time warp but Wolverhampton .... Far far away

Honestly got no problems with us being a 'dirty' team. We're not kick you off the park dirty but there's no doubt we can be cynical at times. It's what separates us from the no backbone nice to look at football teams. We can play good stuff, but we've also got some fight to us and are prepared to bully and be a bit cynical when it's needed.

Thanks Roy
A mixed bag I suppose
Most of the wolves fan I spoke to yesterday
Were pretty complimentary
In fairness to them, , similar to Leicester in my view
They have become used to the class showing
And they do have some class to be fair
Work pretty well as a unit and also have a number of store players that can make things happen
In affect If we had done better with our chances
Especially in the first 10 minutes of the second-half we could have come out winners
if we had done better with our chances
Especially in the first 10 minutes of the second-half we could have come out winners
Fine margins, when Fleck Was through on goal on the left side, the pullback was the better option
As we had an on marked runner in a good position
On the other hand Didzy pulled back to nobody when the shot was on
I imagine his confidence is dipping
No need to be hard on himself but I imagine he is
Needs the old hand on the shoulder from Chris and Alan
On the other hand the later the second-half wore on. Wolves could have nicked a winner
So a bit like Man United but less so
Should have won it, Could have won it, could have lost it, got the point.
Being an away point is all the more precious in my point of view
What a joy it is to follow the blades
Even on a very cold Sunday
And a long trek to the away pub from the station

Weird feeling for me after the game yesterday. On one had really disappointed we’d not bagged a couple more so felt slightly disappointed we’d not won the game. But also slightly relieved we’d escaped with 11 men on the pitch and a point. They looked dangerous once they’d levelled the match.

I did think we were cynical at times, especially on Traore as he was a real handful and George should have walked which you don’t like to see. They did take the Moose out 90 seconds after his goal though so it wasn’t just us!

I’d have taken a point before the game though.

Gracias Roy! I'm still feeling faint from reading the latest batch of complimentary comments.
But theres always one isn't there?!! "Like a superior version of Stoke under Pulis"... What a typical, mongy, know nowt comment.
Fucks sake...

Played well, bit cynical (or uncompromising) and didn’t play the style they expected?
Boo Hoo.

Although, having said that, I have great respect for their manager and admire what Wolves have achieved also.

On the plus side, the Baggies at work are well pleased the “dingles” didn’t beat us.

Would have liked a win, a point is a good return from a trip there. On to Thursday.

I think we are a bit precious on here.

I thought the superior version of Stoke was a compliment - ie solid at the back but playing good football in front. I don’t think we were cynical - some of their footwork was so quick and excellent that we just mistimed as a result.

Overall, I thought the game was an excellent advert for modern honest football. Didzy is too careful with his shooting and, as a result, hitting them too straight. Reminds me of his pen against the pigs. He needs to just let fly inside the post.

Hey Roygbiv if you give any awards out this year for most accurate, fair and honest assessment by an oppo fan, could I nominate this one please? :)

“All in all, good point as Sheff Utd (tick) should’ve put us to bed long before Doherty equalised (tick). Saying that, we looked the only team likely to win in the last 20 minutes (tick). Sheff Utd (tick again), as we already knew, were well organised and full of energy (tick). Some of their interlinking play as they break forward is excellent (tick). Suspect they’ll remain in the top 10 this season (tick).”

Not too disappointed by those comments. There will always be the odd sad fan who probably views a game through one good eye, but the overall view is that we matched them for much of the game, they recognised that we could have walked away with 3 points (and we should have), and that we weren't without craft or skill. There's always room for improvement but it's our first season back in the Prem, and aren't we doing well?

So far we've not been made to look poor by any of the teams we've played, and tactically we've been as cute, and possibly cuter, than some of the clubs we've faced. The game against Man Utd was one of the most exciting I've watched for many a year, and we looked every bit as worthy to be on the same pitch as MU.

Wolves are a good side, but so are we. We've not had the same level of resource to call upon as Wolves have had, but even with the Prem money we still have to cut our cloth accordingly. With Wilder and his team at our helm there are exciting times ahead. I know for some that might have the scent of giddiness about it, but our play is, generally, first rate, we have good players, we'll need to strengthen and improve, but if Wilder can make that happen, and there's no reason, given his track record, why this shouldn't be the case, then we've a positive future to look forward to.

Nice to see our group of Championship quality players (yes Didzy, you have been noticed) making another decent impression at the home of world class football.

That comparison to Stoke under Pulis can fuck right off 😂😂
They looked much more like Pulis's Stoke than we do.
That man Traore the running advertisement for steroids was very difficult to deal with. Their biggest threat was from set pieces they have a tall, big team.We did very well to compete with them. McBurnie helped stop their aerial threat coming on late and giving us some needed height.

Nice one Roy, few dickheads as per usual but favourable comments in the main👍

The last comment is right. We do cry if people don't think we are Brazil 70 reincarnate.

Any neutral reading this board or some FB groups would deffo think we have more than our fair share of precious fans.

Even innocuous nothing comments from the media or pundits get a shitstorm from some.

It‘s almost as if the overwhelming majority of our support want us never to hoof it ever again, and get the face on if there’s the slightest suggestion we might.

Only in S2, or, err, something. Hang on a minute ....

I don’t think he’s careful enough tbh. He rushes it.If he pauses there, looks up to see where the keeper is, and places a curling shot at the top corner it’s a goal all day. He’s such a good player and he’s cool as ice in midfield. The twists and turns he does when under lots of pressure are amazing. But give him the ball in the box and he loses all composure and rushes a shot or a header.

That’s his problem. If I was Wilder I’d be saying to him, “in that situation you have more time than you think you have, slow down, compose yourself and put the ball where the keeper isn’t”.

If he does that then the goals will come.

For the most part a fair call on the game .. as for the others did they watch the same game as me ??? .. keep off the disco biscuits it’s really fkg your rational thought up

Cheers Roy and now our secret is out 'I read their forum yesterday, have to say they’re the most precious fans I’ve come across'
Fuck me ! Go on their forum and suggest they're not a " massive " club but have bought their present position using morally dubious agent connections and then you'll see precious
