Afternoon all,

Roygbiv and I attempt to make sense of a wild game at Bramall Lane on Sunday afternoon in this week's pod. We talk about how Man U tried and (largely) failed to outdo us tactically, the ending of Phil Jones' career, the brilliance of our play, what went wrong in a mad 7 minutes, and generally reliving what was an extremely entertaining and enjoyable game.

Finally, a quick preview of Wolves away at the end there.

Thanks for listening and UTB!

Alternative MOTM for me are Robbo and McB. On the pitch when everything had gone wrong and they produced 2 bits of high level skill with clinical efficiency at a moment of enormous pressure. Both have taken a lot of stick for various aspects of behaviour and attitude, but without their brilliant moment how would we all be feeling today?

Little background on the flea thing is he's been tweeting about us since we beat west brom 1-0 with a beattie header under Robson ,he'd watched the game before going on stage and loved the greasy chip butty then shouting go blades on stage

I remember that, I think it was at Reading festival (or Leeds, whichever one it is they show on TV). I think he also said he was high on Blades fever.

Then he sang the Greasy Chip Butty song when they played at Don Valley.

cheers for that, had no idea!

this is the clip Roy mentioned, while I’m here:

Great pod by the way ,I've been struggling to come to.terms with how I feel about that game I think my overriding emotion afterwards was worry
Worry that mousset is out for any length of time
Or that things are just going so well that ....ah you know the rest

Time, really, for some sort of virus to wipe the Human Race from the face of the Earth. This toilet is, by most metrics, one of its most successful specimens and - Sweet Jesus- all the Planetary resources that have been consumed just to produce that.

Phil Jones...can't disagree, never rated him and he had a mare in the first half...also gutted he was subbed off for 2nd half.
Should be the Alternative MoM.

Great pod again, however the idea of Michael Owen getting any award or recognition for anything to do with punditry needs to be immediately challenged and weeded out.
Unless I really need new specs it was definitely Dave Jones giving the thumbs up to the crowd confirming it was a goal. He always seems a jolly good egg, knows a bit about us and lower league footie in general plus he's a Yorkshire lad.
This is in stark contract to Micheal Owen who I think is on the "other" channel and enlightens us all with laser edged insight such as "That would’ve been a goal had it gone inside the post", "If there’s a bit of rain about, it makes the surface wet", and "What a shot! That’s completely unstoppable, but the keeper’s got to do better for me".

Great to have the stronger bench of the two Uniteds!!

Cheers for that again guys, good stuff.

Roy's "it's not like it's the 1920's, people watch tapes and stuff now" comment made me smile - reminded me of that song by Frank Skinner about Osama Bin Laden - "if he's doing so well will you please tell me, why a video tape not a DVD" 😄
