Is Gary fukin Neville? Constantly referring to his beloved as 'United', the other commentator continues to use Sheffield United but no, not Gary, "if United are going to get anything out of this they're going to have to up there game" etc and other shit. No mate, United the original.United, don't need to up their game, we're beating you 2-0 you twat.

Then on seeing it he wasn’t sure

All game he was saying how good we were and how bad they were. He’s Man U through and through, so he’s not going to instantly switch that off and call us United.

Souness absolutely loving us. Said he was thinking to get a season ticket at United after 70 mins. First time he’s seen us live at the lane ( first game he was in the studio)

Jesus, he spent so many years there as a player it is ingrained in him, he can't help it. I still occasionally call my mrs the name of a girl I went with 20 years ago, it just becomes second nature. I thought he was very complimentary all game to us.
 
Not heard it, but we've spent some time picking Sky Sports News up on using United as short hand for Manchester United today.

For me it’s all a bit clunky. Even Shearer says Newcastle, not United, or Newcastle United.
I’d be happy if The Blades Media team contacted the TV and Radio people and just told them to call us Sheff U. Distinctive, and shorter to pronounce.

He will always call his own team United. So I am not surprised by that.

Lets face it unless we when half a dozen PL titles, some FA cups and a Champions League. I doubt any PL pundit, journo or commentator will ever refer to us as "United."

The best we can get is The Blades.

Souness has definitely changed his tune, I watched the match back and was as gushing as a dour Scot can be.

Neville was equal measures praising and patronising. Was definitely upset at Man Utd’s performance and wasn’t masking it very well.

Maybe Shearer says Newcastle because there is only ..... Erm 🤔.. Newcastle United, our city is a little bigger and we have three teams in it and only one of those should be referred to as Sheffield and it’s not us or Wednesday
