It was sang at Elland Road first time I remember hearing it early that season.
 
How many times have we won at a so called top team in the prem or old division 1 in living memory?

Vaguely remember that song being sung.

He wasn't a bad player. The problem was that he was brought in to replace the great Brian Deane, in both playing ability and fans affection, and that was virtually impossible to do on both counts. A more recent example being Lundstrums initial performances when trying to fill in for a Rolls Royce of a midfielder in Coutts.

Timing is everything, and given a different set of circumstances and timings, Flo could have been a very decent player for us and very effective in the team and style we played too back then.

I remember that at the Lane he was leading the line (or at least trying to) in a classic big lad up front center forward position. For Norway where he was very effective, he played out on the right (of a front 3) where the diagonal ball from the left back up to Flo meant he was tasked with winning the header of the cross field long ball to try and knock it on to the centre forward. He was very good at that too.

I didn't dislike the lad as he gave everything, he just wasn't up to the task of replacing Deano. Mind you, who was. Deane was just a class player and made us tick.

Well I wasnt around to see Woodward and Currie which was over 40 yrs ago ...so someone around the age of 50 wont have seen us win many games against the leading lights .we are only in our 6th season in the top flight in the last 41ish years ..I'm 48
 
Well I've seen us win at Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs. Can't recall seeing us win owt at Old Trafford, Arsenal, or City.

In fact I remember many a time Utd getting a bit of a hiding down at Highbury. Closest I got there was the 1-1 FA Cup Bruce took em off the pitch game, when we had equalised with the penalty and really had them on the rack. Before they cheated, a winner was coming for Utd that day.

I had a poster of Jostein on my wall as a kid (must have come from Match or Shoot because it wasn’t a programme poster) and it had the lyrics to this chant printed on it, so it must have happened at some point.
As nice as the sentiment is for Flo, it’s not true bless him

We should have waited a few years and signed his brother who was a great player. Agree that he was never going to fill deanes boots but I thought he was poor in the air for his size.

I had that one too! It was from 90 minutes.
(I also has one of those Flo hats with "viking" horns...)

i never understood his celebration , to be such a massive hero at the lane and then score on his return with Leeds of all teams and celebrate like that just seemed off to me !
Oh well fast forward a few years and .................. Bashams arriving ................. :0)

I remember seeing us win 3-2 at Maine road in the late 80s. Just before half time Colin Morris was fouled in the box. The ref didn’t give a penalty. He must have realised he made a mistake - the first time we went into the box in the second half he gave us a penalty. Great game. I remember I wore my cousins dodgy fur lined coat!

Just checked. It was 10th October 1987. Frain, Morris (pen) and Philliskirk scored.

To be fair, he had been copping abuse from the SUFC fans throughout the game, as he had in the first match at Elland Road.
 
I remember Flo scoring a brilliant header in front of the Kop on either his debut or one of his first games at the Lane - the chant went up after that and stuck for a while, until we realised that he wasn't a replacement for Deane after all. He was better than most gave him credit for though, he just didn't always suit our style of plan (like when he hadn't scored for umpteen matches for us and did within a minute of starting for Sweden!).

Be very careful. He's another one who must never be questioned.
 
First heard the song at QPR away in August. Along with the classic “there’s gonna be a diet!” Directed to a very fat steward.

Seem to recall Flo doing rather well at Anfield that season too. Good to see United win there, though being asked for 50 p to mind my hubcaps when the wheels were alloy without hubcaps seemed odd!!
