After Quinn was dropped we won against Bristol City and Plymouth and Camara been hitting them in the back of the net. So why did Blackwell swapped Quinn for Camara?
and i herd from a few friends that travelled down to palace, yet again Quinn didn't have a good game, like it was 10 men playing.

I'm sure I heard that Camara picked up a minor niggle before today's game. Don't count on it, though, 'cos I can't remember where I read it/heard it from.

but Quinny is a disadvantage it like playing with 10 men :/

strangely a good player under warnock and robson, subject of an alleged £1.5m bid from middlesborough not long back, gone backwards last two seasons.....

If Camara was injured, he wouldnt have played over half an hour yesterday. The fact is, KB bottled it away from home once again. 4-5-1 is the reason we have lost 5 away games on the bounce and if we keep it things arent going to change.

What other manager in the top 10 goes away to a team in the bottom 3 looking for a draw? I can almost guarantee none of them will. Its negative decisions such as this that prevent Blackwell from being a good manager.

PS Steven Quinn doesnt deserve to be payed in tea towels after his performance AGAIN.

Apparantly we swithced between 4-4-2 and 4-5-1 yesterday, while at Forest the formation was 4-4-2?

I think you're right in that he brought Quinn back in to make us more solid defensively, though I'm sure he was hoping to snatch a win. But if the game plan worked on in training all week is to keep it tight, and then (secondary aim) to nick a goal, it gets tough if you concede after 20 minutes.

I think Blackwell's main fear may have been Kallio, who can be relatively unprotected if he's got the attack minded Ward in front of him. He may have feared that Palace would have Scannell running at him and causing similar problems that Bristol City's Sproule did a couple of weeks ago. Scannell was on the bench though.

My mate text me yestedray at 3.30 to ask what formation we were playing and with all sincerity I has to tell him I didn't know because we hadn't got over the halfway line yet.

I am not a Quinn lover by any stretch and wish he would join Blackwell in ordering a taxi and leave town but he was no worse than the rest of em.

Our first shot was by Camara in the 85th minute that landed in the Sainsbury's car park and Evans had two more in injury time neither on target.

Simply not good enough and it's down to Blackwell plain and simple. Mr Excuse maker had another one lined up yesterday - it's always hard to play clubs witha New Manager.

I have never heard him say "sorry but that defeat was my fault".

Just resign please.

One of the saddest things over the last couple of years has been the decline of Squinny. rom promising youngster with good passing range, excellent first touch and ability to beat a man, get into the box and score, to the running around aimlessly, kicking it anywhere and flicking it away as soon as possible player we have today. I'd love to know who and how has coached all the footballer out of him.

He needs to move in summer so he can maybe start to enjoy football again, but the damage may already be terminal.

His brother?

I think Blackwell said the players lack the mental strength to play away as they do at home. Well surely the coach should do something about that?

The home team have no God-given right to be more attacking, why couldn't we have Ward on the wing forcing their winger to track back?

quinn is the worst player ever to wear the shirt.. coming from someone who saw len de goey and barry butlin in their pomp that is some statement. if you are reading this stephen get your shit together mate.. the ball is not a hand grenade.. my mate puppet informs me that you were once a good player. i constantly reply i don't believe him

I'm not old enough to remember those two, but I know Quinn is a million miles away from the worst player I've seen. He's gone horribly off in recent times, but there was once - and still could be - a real player in Stephen Quinn.

Like JD says, considering the quality of some of the goals Quinny has scored, he's far far far from terrible players such as Ian Hamilton, Bobby Ford and Darren Bullock.

He's simply well off his game and like so many of other players, doesn't benefit from the style of football played by our fantastic manager.

But that's the mystery... Why does Blackwell play him when he so clearly struggles in our system?

Is 4-5-1 also the reason we won 10 away from home last season? The 4-5-1 formation is not a negative formation if it's played in the right way with the right players.

In addition to TopBoy's point...

Are we ignoring the fact that we played 4-4-2 at Forest (at least while we could), started Camara and still lost?

It was a very workable formation with a very tight defence. The current defence (and most defences for that matter) is nothing like strong enough to expect to defend for 90 minutes and pinch the odd goal on the counter every week.

I don't think many sensible united fans felt nearly as let down after the Forest games as they did after the Palace game(?). For me, I've accepted our place as an above average championship side. Given that we're destined for a life of nothingness, I want more than ever for the manager to at least want to entertain.

It's about the additional factors though Foxy.
- we were playing a relegation threatened side in poor form
- we brought back an underperforming midfielder
- we dropped an on form striker

I've got a great deal of time for 4-5-1; especially when we have pace on both flanks in Ward and Yeates. That said, it wasn't needed on Saturday; especially when the personnel involved belied common sense.

You are right, but I'm not entirely sure any additional factors come into my point that this isn't actually true:

When at least one of the five was 4-4-2 and starting Camara :)

i always gave blackwell the benefit of doubt but iv had well and truly enough, theres no reason why howard cotts and sharp are doing well at there new clubs and are fans favourites... his tactics are shit, his excuses are shit and his attitude is shit. I read a post earlier saying about i dont understand we played well last week at home against plymouth! WELL i thought we had good spells going forward yes but they were few and far between, our defending was woeful and the biggest factor of them all it was plymouth. We are very mediocre and i was going to renew my season ticket even though i wont get to all the matches from next season but forget it ill spend more money on something that gives back.

And he would be a good player again for us if we were in the Prem. Unfortunately, this division is too physical and the simple fact is he's too small for the championship.
