Last time I went to London Road, we were jostling for a promotion spot along with Peterboro, it was night match, the lad I travelled with then was on nights, so I took our owd fella for a bit of company.

I think it was my first look at this winger we had signed from Blackpool, Colin Morris, he was like lightening.

Battered em, 0 - 4 hordes of Blades celebrating in the ground, Mini-Buses on their sides outside the ground, a famous night, sumat to live up to Blacky

Travellin with my son tomorrow, 23 years old and his first time on a Terrace

That was the day I started supporting Blades! The crowd was 13,000+ and between 7-8,000 were Blades, many of them walked the last 4 miles to London Road from the A1 as the traffic was awful. I was a 13 year old schoolboy who was obviously young and impressionable ...

TB.

I was there too, 10 years old and full of it!

Watched the Peterborough fans fighting among themselves in the "rat-run" beneath the main stand.

Then we beat them 4-0 again in the return at BDTBL a week or so later.

I actually enjoyed the Peterboro evening more than Darlington a few weeks later.

That was the night I knew we were going up for certain. Even at that late stage of the season there were 5 teams chasing 4 promotion spots and there was always a nagging doubt we could have a mare and drop to 5th. After that night it was never in doubt again.

Just wondering whether Colin Morris would get in the current Blades team under Blackie? I started supporting the Blades at the twilight of Morris' career and can't remember him too well apart from that him and Edwards created and scored most of our chances. Did CM track back and defend enough to get in a KB side or was he just an out and out winger?

That is exactly how I remember it, the run in at the end of that season was absolutely brilliant, we had all the teams that had been matching us in the last few games and we sorted them.

Always remember the Bradford game at home and what was at that time a huge crowd, I believe we had more that night than Liverpool who were also at home either in the old first division or European Cup.

I was there that night, stood behind the goal. Does my memory deceive me or did Jeff King get two?

He scored one which was our 2nd goal, Edwards got the 1st and 4th with Morris getting our 3rd just before half time.

King got 2 goals in the 3-2 win at Crewe
