Let's pray that McGoldrick comes back fit & firing. Robinson isn't the answer for us at the moment. He needs some time out to work on himself physically. Something isn't right with him at the moment.

Robinson looked our best signing in pre season but looks all at sea recently, he had a good second half at Chelsea so he can do it, it must be a confidence thing.

The game was fucking shite , apart from “ our “ mans header at the start , and 2 efforts from the wonder kid at Brighton, the play was appalling, no body gave other players options
To say McClean missed Enda is an understatement,
The strikers got No service, any wonder he got hooked , but you could have picked 5 or 6 of them
He ( Robinson) is a good player , and if he played 2 up top would flourish , ( that’s for Ireland 🇮🇪 btw )
Ireland are a poor team , I mean fucking Whelan got 90 minutes, they are set up not to lose , think “Dem Pigs 🐷 “ v us at home last 2 steel city derbies
That’s the tactics , don’t lose , then try to nick it on break

Good work , and quick off the mark mate , but the game was dire , really really really poor , it’s how he has them set up not to lose

It was shite. It was an awful pitch though in mitigation but severely lacking in any quality up top. Robinson wasn’t good, nor was he bad but never got anywhere.

Egan was solid.

Get rid of Coleman, Whelan and McClean and there's a solid team there. McClean has his moments but the 85 minutes of overhitting passes, conceding possession and fouls and running it out of play aren't worth the 5 minutes where he's decent. Generally though - should be setting up to win.

For me, Connelly has to start next game with Robinson who needs to float, and RoI need to have a bit more belief in their midfield's ability instead of hoofing it.

Every pass had a bit of hoof on it today, 5 yard passes were waist height, receiver is immediately on the back foot because he has to take it down, control it and then pass.

Mick McCarthy Ireland still miles out ahead of O'Neill Ireland though for me.

Having watched him closely since it was all I was interested in I am afraid Robinson is hiding on the pitch , maybe still carrying an injury. He runs around in the vicinity of the players he is supposed to pick up but never really engages in the way you see someone like Billy or Mcburnie hunt them down. This means he is more of less out of the match unless he gets perfect service which is the same thing we are seeing for us. Onthe plus side when he gets some time on the ball he can cross with real quality, seen last night and v Chelsea. Overall he doesn't look like the answer for us at this point.

Not sure if it’s just me, but Robinson has the look and play of a man at the moment who thinks he’s made it. The staying there is the hard bit by the looks of it

Perhaps people who had the audacity to moan at McGoldrick when he missed those chances recently might shut up now !
He's one of our best players up front and his link up play is second to none , WE are missing him and NI misssed him . There is such a fine line in scoring a goal in the premier league and you also need a bit of luck as well as skill .
Come Back David McGoldrick that's all I have got to say !!
Just hope his injury isn't to serious as he seems absent for quite a while now !

Could be comments from our games.

100% - Robinson is doing something right because he's starting every week, just not sure what that is. It looks like tactically he doesn't fit in so maybe Wilder is giving him a run to bed in. For me he needs to go on the bench for a bit as there is a queue behind him that deserve a chance.

With the benefit of hindsight - perhaps the priming of CR a striker was/is a mistake.

I don't think he is a bad player. He shows neat touches and willing runs but that's about as far as I can compliment him so far. That said, none of the strikers who've started games have set the world alight. So perhaps it's the lack of supply that's hurt him also?

“What did work: the Duffy/Egan partnership, which looks like it has real legs”

Footballers with legs. Who'd have thunk it?

Robinson's shite, I would be surprised to see him back at PNE next season. If we stay up I think we'll look to improve both McBurnie and Robinson as they're both too limited for what Wilder's looking to create.

We're playing very much on the counter now due to having less of the ball in most games. I probably see more fast and athletic attacking players coming in like Mousset....I know you need all options, but I wouldn't necessarily describe Robinson / McBurnie as hold up men, poachers or playing on the last man type players. They both like to pick the ball up from wide and cut in but without an attacking midfielder it's difficult for them to play off anyone.

Look at all Mcburnie's goals, he's definitely a poacher, but with a bit more to his game. Likes to feet rather than to head.

I think everyone knew what Robinson offered when we initially signed him, unfortunately now nobody knows exactly what it is.

I think being up against a sub-par Azpilicueta that day probably made Callum look better than he actually is.
