Is selection having a negative impact on the players or positive?

Fleck - It will be interesting to see how Fleck returns after yesterday, from reading RoyGiv's post match comments he's getting pelters: TBC

McBurnie - I think what happened with our media mess up and the pelters he received after his last performance for country this has effected McBurnie's club form: Negative impact

Robinson - Second half vs Chelsea he was great then we had the international break, tweaked his hamstring and he's struggled in the last few games: Negative impact?

McGoldrick - Scored the winner in the last game for Ireland should have been full of confidence then struggled with his finishing vs Southampton: Wouldn't want to say negative impact, but he really needs to get going for us.

Stevens - Seems to grow in confidence every game he plays: Positive impact

Egan - Fantastic in the last round of games, captaincy for his country and first full cap: Positive impact

Last time Fleck was selected in the Scotland squad he came back looking like he’d had a foot transplant with an amputee.

McBurnie and McGoldrick aren't involved in these internationals.

I'm not questioning this particular round of games, just in general. Look at our form after international breaks, that's probably down to the stop-start interference it causes. However everyone's in the same boat when it comes to that...could a contributing factor be down to the experiences they're having on duty?

Egan obviously stays in place tonight for RoI, Robinson relegated to the bench, Enda straight back in.

Connolly starts, so hopefully a better game than the other day is coming up.

Also playing a back 3 and wingbacks tonight so Egan should feel comfortable with that. Enda is playing LB though rather than LWB.

Is that how they lined up? How could Enda be playing LB? Did you mean LCB? I thought it was a back two of Duffy and Egan with Enda and Coleman as attacking full backs. I was only half paying attention tbf. They may have changed at some point in the game as Enda was getting forward a lot in the second half.

It started 3-5-2 with Stevens LCB. They changed it after they went 1 down with Stevens going back to LB and McClean (how he's a footballer I'll never know), pushed up.

Ta. Yeah, that’s what I suspected. I was fucking around having my tea in the first half so not really following it properly (basically only really paying attention when Egan or Enda were on the ball). I sort of wondered why Enda wasn’t rampaging up the wing early on but was distracted by a spring roll.

I meant LCB yeah. Didn't last long anyway, went back to a 4 after the goal.

Criminal that they didn't put him in his natural position when they finally played it.
