What has mousset done to deserve a start over Billy ?
looked a much better player every time he's played
That’s your opinion Eddie, I’d like to see them both play together as a matter of fact.

It’s alright him doing well for little cameos but the acid test is when he starts, that’s why I don’t agree with you just yet.

Not a chance, he clearly hasn’t looked match fit to start although he should surely be there now?

I like Mousset but what has he done for the Blades to deserve a start over Billy?

Just because he’s cost shy of £10M doesn’t mean he’s better or deserves a start, that isn’t directed at you by the way or anyone in particular.

That might have been true for the first few games, but not sure it’s now the case at the end of September. We have 4 very good players vying for two positions, and whoever you leave out is going to be understandably annoyed. For me, Mousset had a huge impact at Stamford Bridge, and killed the game at Goodison with a superb finish. In a game where we were likely going to be playing more on the break at home to Liverpool, he’d have been ahead of Sharp to start in my view.

I honestly don't believe Wilder has much time for him to be honest...the reason...…..who knows? There's no bigger blade than me Seth?

We’ll agree to disagree then mate.

I still think our fans are underestimating the qualities of our talisman, again I’m not saying you are but it’s evident on here and also from the main man himself that some don’t think he’s good enough to start for us in the Prem, well I do.

Really?

Billy has scored over 100 goals for this football club.

Mousset has scored 1.

If we’re picking people just on what they contributed for us in lower divisions, Duffy would be an ever-present rather than on the bench at Stoke. We have to be realistic about the sort of games Sharp will be effective in. I’d have started him against Southampton. That’s the only one I think he’d have made a difference vs those that started.

I’d start him in most home games to be honest, form and fitness depending obviously, I think he’d have caused Leicester problems too.

We cant afford to have McGoldrick on the pitch when he’s missed so many chances. I would personally try & stick with McB & Mousse with Sharp coming off the bench.
Echoes of last season
Mcgoldricks link up play and pressing is outstanding and better than anything else we have and he gets in the positions not putting them away but getting there so he will
mcgoldrick n Mousset imo

Your talking out your arse mate

Billy is by far the all round better player.

Better with his feet, better at holding the ball up, better at anticipating knockdowns, better at getting in dangerous positions and far, far better at putting the ball in the back of the net.

I like Mousset but I fear that he's one of those players who's only effective when used as a substitute.

You can see he’s different to anything else we’ve got or had for many a year potentially he’s Billy with legs more physical power and technique

Yeah, I like Mousset but until he can start games and prove he can hack it we can’t say for certain he should be starting, the acid test will be when he finally gets his chance.

Nothing against billy ( I think he's done really well when he's played but to me mousset looks every inch a premier League player and should be starting

He’s a very dangerous player and I’m looking forward to him hopefully starting very soon but he also has the look of someone who could be the player who comes off the bench to terrify tiring defenders, we’ll potentially soon see.

How can you judge that ?

I agree with you in a way I'd like to see both feature more but I've been very impressed with moussets play ,the way he uses his body and his pace is exactly what we need

I don't know why any of our strikers are being discussed as starters ahead of Billy as none of them so far have demonstrated that they are capable of doing what Billy can do, i.e. score goals on a regular basis. Given our dearth of goals so far this season I find Billy's exclusion prior to his red card bizarre. Looking ahead after his ban is up, suggestions of his continued exclusion are even more bizarre.

All of it

I've been watching Billy Sharp play football for 15 years, I know his game inside out.

I've compared that with what I've seen of Lys Mousset so far.

If it was a game of Top Trumps Billy would win in every category except speed.

that's just like your opinion man
Don't agree with it one bit

Billy was superb when he came on against Southampton (apart from the red card).

Lundstram hit a brilliant 'ping' to Mousset yesterday.

We need Norwood and Lundstram 'pinging' a few 'pings' into the channels for Mousset's pace and then him looking for Billy in the six yard box.

The thing is if Wilder doesn’t give him a run of games we will never know...he DESERVES his chance just like wilder has given the rest of them.

Don’t be so sure that chance will come.

And don’t be at all surprised if it’s Leon on the bus to Watford with Sharp licking his wounds in the Summer House !

Reason ?

Cos he can and that’s about the only explanation anyone will get 😉.

I like Mousset and think he offers something different but there is a big difference between ' looking every inch a Premier League player ' and having a natural ability to put the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis , which Billy Sharp has done throughout his career .

There is every reason to believe he still has that ability and to overlook it in favour of others who have not come anywhere close could be a big mistake , in my opinion .

Make a statement + go for the win at Watford - get Didsy in as a 10 , behind Billy & McBurnie - sub one or both the strikers (if they're not cutting it or knackered) in 2nd half with Mousset / Robbo. If Didsy gets tired , put Freeman on.
We gave a masterclass in defending v the European Champions on Saturday.
Let's give a masterclass in getting on the front foot at Watford who are bottom.
You want the players to have confidence in themselves , Chris ?
Set 'em up with a selection which says "we're gonna score the goals to beat you , Watford !"

I do prefer us to play with a number 10 and like to see Didsy in the side because of his link up play but if you picked him as a 10 against Watford, which of the 3 current midfielders would you drop?

Billy will feel hard done to that he hasn’t started a single league game as of yet, especially considering he’s scored a shed load of goals to get us here.

McBurnie has come from the Championship and had starts, Goldie has come from the Championship with us and had starts, Robbo has come from the Championship and had starts, there’s only Billy who hasn’t had a start. I know it’s a team game but he’s possibly the main reason we find ourselves in the Prem.

He offers a lot more than just goals too, he puts the size 5 into areas where he knows he’d want them putting himself which is an art on its own, it’s then up to our other players to get in those areas.

I’m not writing any of our other strikers off but he must get more game time due to all the attributes he brings.
I agree to an extent. But it's Billy's own fault too. He could have worked himself into being a starter these past three matches but he was sat watching because of his own actions.

Now is the time to take his chance against so-called lesser teams. Be that from the bench or starting.
