I'll give them credit. I would not want to travel to Sunderland on a Wednesday night for a cup match.

“An upset maybe, but not a Giant Killing. Sheff Utd will never be a bigger club than us. They’re a Mid-level Championship club at best – didn’t once sell out 32k Bramall Lane during their promotion season”

You think of footballing giants, you think of Sunderland.

At least most of them realise we didn't take this game seriously whatsoever. Their fans on the night were acting as if it was the FA Cup Final mind. Fair play to them.

Pig with the final comment.
Almost hear wawawses all the way home.

GLTTMackems, hope they get to the final.

Let’s play spot the pig infiltrator comment..

* clue it’s the last one.

Well, they are a bigger club than us, there's no point in denying this whether it's by seasons at the highest level, honours, and (yes) crowds. Even though their reported crowds these days seem to be a fiction from the same source that gives us Arsenal's and ManCtiy's alleged attendances.

I don't mind accepting that point, but when we were being eclipsed by Burton Albion, Walsall and Scunthorpe three years ago I was too ashamed of our level and standards to have the arrogance to claim we're a much bigger club than any of those.

So it would probably have been better if the person responsible for that remark had STFU about it.

Barring the last two, some really fair and balanced comments.

Where did he say Sunderland are a footballing giant?

Only if you're 105 years old! ;)

Sunderland have won precisely zero major trophies in my lifetime. Why squabble or brag about vacuous notions of "bigger club" when right now today they're in League One? I know I never did when we were there.

I don't see anything bitter about it.

Most of what he said was true.

Never mentioned the comment was bitter, mentioned the pigs were bitter.

And what I said was true, or am I mistaken in thinking attendances are important to them?

Dont know why but the comment about not selling out last season really cuts deep... Prob because it's true...

“The premier league sides outside the top six see the League Cup as an inconvenience now sadly. 11,000 crowd and ten changes says it all about Sheffield Utd’s approach.”

Sadly, it does.

The my club is bigger than your club bollocks belongs in the playground.
It’s irrelevant who’s bigger than who,I support the Blades because it’s my team
I’m lucky enough to have been born in Sheffield but if it had been Torquay then I would be just as proud
to be a gulls fan.

As has been said on other threads. 200k for winning the league cup or 200mil for staying in the top division. Where is the incentive to do well in the cup?

Cheers Roy. Fairly balanced comments from them apart from the last comment from one of our pork neighbours🙄.
Can’t wait for the pre match views from those self entitled scousers😳. Getting loads of the usual we’ve got no chance whatsoever comments🤔🤔. UTB ⚔️⚔️⚔️
