Have we ever beaten Walsall?
Have we ever beaten Walsall?
£500 grand for some sand? No wonder we were in financial trouble.
Yes but we had to call upon the devil to do it, I remember Ched Evans rising up from that pentagram as clearly as if it was yesterday.Have we ever beaten Walsall?
Ditto mate that day v Walsall will live in my memory for ever, the violence though was uncalled for attacking players you cannot condone. Martin Peters said there will repercussions oh yes one was he should have been shot, we had a great penalty taker in Kenworthy and Peters told him not to get changed he wasn't playing AND HE WASN'T INJURED AS WAS REPORTED.I'm most saddened by the fact that I can remember it all so clearly.![]()
Been to Walsall a few times but cannot remember ever winning, that's probably old age but they are a bogey side for us, as were Shrewsbury years ago.Have we ever beaten Walsall?

Yes but life's a "beach"Did we ever finish paying for the sand?![]()
It was surreal stood on kop ages after FT whistle then slow walk down Shoreham Street, all I could think of was twat John Matthews (bottling pen), and Don Givens for missing. That season we became the only team EVER to be relegated with a plus goal difference plus 4 IMS.Possibly could have turned a blind eye if they'd set about our own shambles of a team.
I remember walking back up John Street feeling numb that we'd dropped in to the bottom tier and wondering if it'd be long before we were playing the likes of Matlock Town at the rate we were going.
Anyone old enough to remember these dark days will surely appreciate the present one's...
Maybe you should change your name, you’re obviously not drinking enoughI'm most saddened by the fact that I can remember it all so clearly.![]()
Not sure if it's true but someone once told me that had it been three points for a win that season we'd have stayed up. Of all of the lows at the Lane over the years that Givens penalty sure is the top of my own personal list.It was surreal stood on kop ages after FT whistle then slow walk down Shoreham Street, all I could think of was twat John Matthews (bottling pen), and Don Givens for missing. We actually got back to the first division quicker than we did after the 1994 relegation and the 2006 relegation.Anyone who wasn't born that day should let this sink in - In just six years (SIX) we went from finishing a couple of points off a place in Europe, to dropping into the fourth division!
Around 1974 we were riding high and beating some of the best teams in English football, the pigs were bottom of the second division and relegated.
Enjoy these current times we have now because you never know when kick in the teeth is coming. But believe me it will come

"It is a foolish man who built his football club on sand" - Matthew 7:24Though many are now clamoring for us to to build several new sands.
The lessons of history are soon forgotten.

It was awful GK had time to go for shit, shave and haircut and still save it, and yes we would have styed up with 3 for a win but hey ho.Not sure if it's true but someone once told me that had it been three points for a win that season we'd have stayed up. I wasn’t back then, that’s the problem.Maybe you should change your name, you’re obviously not drinking enough
