1 We’ve shown real resilience and adaptability. We’ve come back from 1-0 down for a point, from 2-0 down for a point, and we’ve successfully defended a 1-0 lead. In each of those three different circumstances we’ve looked more than capable of working the game in our favour.

2 Although we’ve only played to our best sporadically and have sometimes looked lacking in self-belief, we’ve actually been pretty comfortable (at the least) for long spells in every game. The points we’ve lost have been largely down to moments of individual brilliance, and/or individual howlers, rather than because our levels have been below those needed in the league.

3 As promised repeatedly by Wilder, pre-season, we’ve kept major aspects of our attacking play in place—JOC and Bash are still getting high up the pitch, consistently, e.g., home and away.

4 Unlike last year, when playing a flat 3 in midfield we’ve managed (for long stretches) to maintain supply lines and link play between midfield and forward line. The addition of Luke Freeman has really helped with this, as has Robbo’s tendency to drop.

5 The full-backs. Both of them.

6 We’ve scored in every game.

7 Three of our strikers are off the mark already, four (kind of) if we credit the Moose, in spirit, for today’s equaliser.

8 The fucking Moose!

9 Fucking Lundstram!

10 Strength in-depth and much more to come, we’ve every reason to expect, from players who’ve been marginal so far.

Oh, and shoving it down the throats of the lazy bastards, cliche-mongers and know nowts. (Not you, knowsnowt ).

What a fantastic few weeks. Every reason to think we can kick on from here and just get stronger.

Bollox the international break, roll on Southampton, and UTFMB ⚔️

Great post.

Overall I’d say we’ve managed to impress without playing at our best yet. When we really hit our stride, we’re going to cause even more surprises.

Could it be that our best is not quite as conspicuous against much better teams than the non-league garbage we’ve played for the last two or three years?... ;)

Fair point. Important to remember there are two teams on the pitch and we won’t be able to dictate play the way we could in the lower leagues. But I do still think there’s more to come from this team and I’m looking forward to seeing it.

We've not attacked to our full potential because that's the place with the most upheaval. Once those players build a better understanding of each other and the rest of the team we'll carry loads more threat.

We should be hugely proud of them. We haven’t looked remotely out of place. I appreciate it’s a long season but we are entitled to optimism tonight. We went toe to toe with one of the supposed elite on their own ground and acquitted ourselves (over the 90 minutes) superbly. Wine tastes good as well. I’ve gone for a Trivento Golden Reserve. I’m going to call it Moosebec.

I agree completely. If we play like we did in that second half we will stay up quite comfortably.

Definitely, and I've just said as much in another thread. On the other hand, I strongly believe there's more to come from us. We still have new signings to settle in and make their mark, and honestly I think our only lesson so far is that the team should be more confident than they seem at times. Indecision like Basham last week, and the mix up between two defenders today, those aren't like us and I expect will disappear with time.

Very good o.p.😘

We’ve put a few things right this season that have held us back previously. Hopefully we can add “not being shit after international breaks” to the list. 👌

We are currently sitting 8th having played 4 teams, 3 of which are in decent form as they also sit in the top half!
We've also not played anyone currently in the bottom 3 - and therefore out of form.
It's all very encouraging!
Onwards and upwards!
UTB!

I still don't think we've played as well.as we can
Apart from.in patches but there are obvious reasons
Obviously most of the players haven't played at this level and need to adapt and the fact we have a lot of new offensive players

Need to shake off this tendency to start so cautiously we are not good at it there were so many passed back to hendo today we were bound to put ourselves under pressure

Played much more like ourselves second half but that could have been the second game in a row where we didn't get something from the game down to a poor first half and that could really set us back

The best thing about our start has been our run of games. Each one has been an increasingly difficult challenge, compared to the previous: Bournemouth, Palace, Leicester, Chelsea.

We all know that Wilder and Knill learn and adapt quickly but we couldn't have asked for a better set of opening fixtures to enable us to find our feet. It's not like we've gone straight in with Man City away or something like that.

Two of which are in the top 4 positions currently

Danso will be missing from Southamptons defence when they play us,he got two yellows against Man U.

As will Nathan Redmond (ankle injury 3 weeks).

14. CW is trying to integrate our new signings while keeping faith with the players who got us promoted. None of our players (apart from Moose very briefly) have played at this level before. We're doing fine.

So Deano made a mistake - so does de Gea - on a weekly basis.

Stevens played a few for Villa, debut 0-5 vs City. Bash got one or two for Blackpool. Good start yes, but still early days, Fleck only absence, Chelsea missed quite a few of there best, injuries is a greater fear than the opponents actually as we don't have massive dept. Happy days

Sequencing of games doing us favours? It’s just like last season, all over again 😄.
