Really simple one, do we go all out as per the last few seasons despite the opposition, or do we line up more stringently and look to prevent Chelsea from getting into any rythm, personally I always prefer us to go for it! But plenty of Blades I have spoken to in person seem to believe that we should just look to cancel them out

Chrissy Wilder spoke openly about not looking at match vs Chelsea as a "free hit" and our main focus is to accumulate as many points as possible by season end... So I think we will still look for opportunities to exploit but ultimately we will still play with a flat 3 and be as resolute as possible in defence.

We have to be realistic, especially after the Leicester game, and prepare for the likelihood that we won't have enough of the ball to look our best. That said, the only change I think we're likely to see will be up front where I'd expect McBurnie to get his first chance at a start.

I'd expect us to approach it much the same way we did last week and ignore that it's an away fixture. Look, if things go badly this season I want to look back and say that we made a go of it. I could take it if the end comes and the players weren't quite up to the task. I'd hate it if we were thinking if only we'd been brave enough to stick with the system that's achieved so much.

I think this is 'sooner or later' question. At the moment we seem to be playing a cautious first half, and more expansive second half. But is that Wilders plan, or a reaction to lack of impetus early on?

Sooner or later we are going to see the blades style implemented, but this game seems too early to go gung ho. Players not settled and selection always a quandary for management. Just need to be a bit patient and trust Wilders instincts.
No need to panic yet.

I would prefer attack as the best form of defence. Wilder hasn't played that card yet, preferring the cautious opening. It seems the players AND the manager are still finding their feet in this league.
Happy to support his approach, as it's got potential to build a decent platform and gradually improve confidence all round.

Wilder has never gone into a game with the intention to try and cancel the other team out. He always plays to win. This will be no different.

What I hope will be different is the mental state of some of our players. I’m pleased with our start, but, we have a few jelly babies in the team who are still quivering at the realisation they are now competing at the highest level of the game.

They are a tad too nervous at times. They are getting rid of the ball like it is a hot potato or taking the easiest safest option with it. This needs to stop and stop now.

We need to get back that little bit of swagger, not arrogance, but swagger. We need to calm down and carry on with the type of football that got us here in the first place. We are here on merit. Show everyone why!

Of course we should play to win. However the way the question is phrased sounds like it's asking if we should we play it as a free hit as we are likely to lose and just go all out attack.

I think we have a good chance of taking something away from this game so we should play tactically smart.

The great thing about our system is out ability to change shape constantly. Our 3-5-2 very quickly becomes a 5-3-1-1 as soon as we need men behind the ball. We don't need to dramatically adjust personnel and style based upon our opponents. We'll set up like we always do, when opportunity presents itself JOC and Bash will be well up the pitch. I just hope we don't get too pinned back, especially on our left; as I think this killed us against Leicester.

We can’t do what we did in the clean sheet run last year because they’ll score more than the likes of WBA and Leeds did given the quality they have. They are good going forward and shit at the back.

I can’t see anything other than a 2 or 3 nil loss for us if we go and ‘play’, the only hope is that they have an off day and the fans get on their backs early on.

We played against Mount and Abraham last season without too much worry. With all their injuries right now I only see them as the main attacking threats.

Honestly think this is a game we could surprise some people. Marked it as a loss when draw first came out but wouldn't be surprised to see a boring draw play out.

The reason we got relegated last time was employing ultra defensive tactics in the last 8 games. We had put ourselves in what should have been a safe place . But tried to defend it .....big mistake

Absolutely agree Sheff. Seen Chelsea twice live on TV so far this season (Leicester and Norwich) and their defence is far from solid but going forward they look really good so if we sit back we could be in serious trouble. Go for it and put their defence under pressure.

Our game is evolving to suit the Prem. There is no reason why we can't be cautious and solid when we need to as we will be without the ball much more than the last three seasons, but once in possession we can then get on the front foot and get at their dodgy defence. We need to be a bit quicker in the transition than in the past where we built up with fifteen or twenty passes before getting the ball in scoring areas. Counter attacking quickly and clinically is the key in this division and with the bit more pace we now have at our disposal there is no reason why we cant get the ball in the box with three or four passes now. We have shown that we can cope with some good opposition players, individual errors cost us against Leicester, cut those out and we are capable of taking points from the likes of Chelsea.

Having read Roy’s view from and all the self entitled, over confident billy big bollocks from Chelsea fans......I say go for it.....that will see how good they are......they can’t go diving all over the place holding their faces with VAR.........I would love it if we beat these!
