Anyone with 500 points and above as had the chance to buy, now there are 2/3K left don’t they let anyone under 500 points buy one?

Where have these 'fans' been for the last 10 years ?
Now they all start complaining.

Who knows? Where do fans come from in the first place? We all started somewhere back in the day and I doubt the majority of people who are choosing not to go or have already been put off by ticket prices, a daft membership scheme or inability to get tickets through friends or relatives who are season ticket holders are thinking I must post about it on S24SU.

Let anyone with any points buy a ticket.....Why do you want empty seats?

No Barry, I want to take my youngest who has 300 points. Why do you assume that I want empty seats when I have provided a number of possible actions the club may follow to ensure that there aren't any, whilst ensuring safety of fans ?

I feel sympathy with genuine fans who wish to buy tickets and struggle, though the club has a responsibility to prevent trouble by selling tickets to anyone.

I’m not sure what you mean by safety of fans, when was the last time there was a problem in the ground? From memory I would say 1980

The 500 point thing is to stop away fans getting tickets and causing the problems which would damage the PL 'brand'. You know, the same brand thatsjust written us a cheque for c£200m...

If that means a few bandwagon fans miss out, then I'm prepared to put up with that and it seems like the club are comfortable with that trade off too.

No need to ever expand the lane then.

To all intents and purposes he can't.

Maybe if the Blade had bothered going before this season he wouldn't have a problem?

Could always carry on going to Meadowhall with the Mrs like he has for the last couple of years. You could meet for coffee......

Beneath ya that. I say that as someone who respects what you usually put.

There is trouble at many games for example:

On Saturday a Palace fan was thrown out of the ground and I'm glad he wasn't sat near me or my children.

Fortunately it is infrequent but it happens! You are not suggesting there is never the potential for trouble and the club has no duty of care to protect its fans through segregation?

If we can't find fault with the team we have to look elsewhere.

If there are tickets and Blades (old, new otherwise) who want to buy them - make them available. A policy contra to that is bullshittery

Yep deeply frustrating at the moment but I'm confident the club will review and amend the current policy so that we all win.

Why didn’t Leeds, Forest, Pigs etc buy tickets for home end last year, there were no restrictions then?

There were restrictions for the Pig game. 500 points etc.

Theres thread where it's all explained after a members query.

Feel free to pretend otherwise though.

The Palace fan was thrown out for invading the playing area and attempting to assault Baldock.
He was in the BLUT.
Your point has absolutely nothing to do with segregation and ticket sales.

And as I’ve just mentioned you can buy a ticket after landing from Mars for Chelsea and last time I looked they were in the Premier League???

They didn't sell out against Leicester. .

They change the ticketing depending on the opposition. No general sale v Liverpool for example but there is for us and Brighton.

Bloody facts eh?

I for one hope your account gets wiped of the system and you have to start again with 0 points.

Oh wait you couldn’t because you can’t buy a ticket.

At least it would keep absolute morons like yourself going to matches.

All blades are welcome at the lane even if it’s there first game no matter how young or old

Hopefully they’d replace miserable gits like you 👍👍

I think we can safely agree that not only are you a bit childish, but that you're full of shit.

"Click to expand...For your info mate I have missed two home games this season due to work and been to 4/5 away matches , therefore not having a membership hence not been able to use my 37k loyalty points. Whilst I agree fans with 50 thousand loyalty points are clearly more deserving as they spend far more money/time traveling up and down than I do."

No wonder you're bitter if the club took over 17000 points off you in less than two weeks.

"Agreed im mid 20s and barely have 20 even after years of stickets and aways a rolling 2/3 year period would be sensible especially if we do manage to get promoted"

Yes it does! I was asked when has there been trouble at the ground (as Barry appears to think there isn't any and so little need for segregation of fans) and so I gave two minor examples to show that segregation of fans is still necessary. I am quite aware of what happened with the Palace fan as I was close to the event - fortunately not too close! You are not suggesting that segregation and crowd trouble are not intrinsically linked? The club have stated one reason for the 500 point limit is to prevent away fans from gaining access to home areas and thus prevent crowd trouble. It's not my argument its the club's. Do I like it? No! as it is preventing me from taking my youngest and seems to be excluding new and casual fans from buying tickets. However I do acknowledge that the club has a duty of care to keep fans safe through sensible segregation and ticket restrictions. What would your solution be?

No it dosent. There have been a number of idiot away fans encroaching from the BLLT this past few seasons and no issues with Blades.
You're making a mountain out of less than a molehill.
Membership is the answer with card sent to applicants address. In the event there's abuse of it the membership is revoked and the individual banned.
Apparently the 500 points requirement has been removed so it's a mute point anyway.

Oh yes it does! There have been no issues with Blades owing to sensible segregation and ticket allocation. It's not me that is making a mountain out of less than a molehill it is the club's argument. I like your solution to the problem and I wish that you were making policy. Has the 500 points requirement been removed? Can't see anything on the official site. This would indeed be good news and if correct it would be a moot point!

9am Monday 19th August
General Sale
Should any tickets remain they will go on general sale to supporters with a minimum of 500 loyalty points or above.
One ticket per supporter.

Yeh that's what I read. So the 500 loyalty point restriction hasn't been removed?

I looked on Liverpools ticket website at their home games.
You need a Liverpool membership, registered to a "L" postcode to get tickets when on general sale. Not perfect, but an option.

Liverpool's membership is the same as ours as in the more games you go to the more likely chance you have of getting to a game

Anyone who says they just phoned up and got one is lying
They have a 25000 waiting list for season tickets and sell certain games for thousands of pounds
Our system is about as fair as it can be , the club should find some way of getting kids I. Who haven't been before but it shouldn't be at the expense of others
I'm.not sure of the price but I'm sure the season tickets are pretty reasonable
