He is definitely the risk averse option, but he is solid, apart from a deep cross that they countered from, didn't make any errors, just takes less risks. Which isn't to say he won't attack, but he won't try the quick through balls, prefers to maintain possession, which is a good thing to have for some games.

Did ok but didn't play that well. Our midfield as a whole was a bit poor, with flashes of good play. I thought he was slow on the ball on a couple of occasions and got robbed. Slowed down several attacks as well. He has a part to play but should not be starting games, for me. I suspect we'll see Besic starting away from home.

He looked solid and it's now clear why Wilder rates him. My one nit picking issue with his game today would be his passing across the back line. He puts it behind the defenders a lot which can cause them to have to clear their lines or recover the situation.

Other than that he played great, showed great athleticism and popped up in places you wouldn't expect - both going forward and at the back. Well done Lunny, yer premier league player, you!

Mixed bag today from lunny
Played mcgoldrick in after 30 seconds and we should have scored
Next dozen touches were all in great positions on the counter where he preferred to turn and play it back to the nearest player and kill the counter stone dead
Put one awful cross in followed by one world class cross that Robinson ( who could have had a hatful today ) didn't read
After that he was good and didn't deserve the stick he got before the game
Note of caution the team that finished the game would have won that match but I can understand why tufty wanted to control the emotion of the situation Andi think on reflection that's clever management

2 goal scoring chances created

Don't get that. If the team that finished the game would have won how is a point clever management?

Apart from a deep cross that he hit about 20 yards over the crossbar as well?

I thought he did o.k. I wouldn't use the word "brilliant" - but ok. Once again we looked a hell of a lot more enterprising when he went off.

Yeah but Fleck and Norwood were doing that too, and it didn't lead to them breaking on us.

The turnover is one of the most dangerous things in the Prem, need to have it happen as little as possible.

Glass half full for me. Was instrumental in controlling game and frustrating Bournemouth into poor performanc first half. But in combination with Norwood and fleck not enough midfield creativity. With players like rav, freeman , besic in the squad don't think he'll stick around in the team for long. Norwood too needs to step up a lot. Not a disaster but not great and if we are going to perform this season everyone needs to be playing out of their skins

Echo what has been said above

Lunny was pretty good by his standards no doubt about that, 2 good chances created from deep - but no shock when we brought Freeman on we improved massively. He could’ve very easily come on for Norwood though, he wasn’t great by any standards.

But for me Freeman must start. That attacking dynamic in our midfield 3 is integral to how we play.

I think Lunny had a good game created chances put the best balls into the box than all 3 of the midfield. He will start away games or besic will it's down to them 2 to fight it out for a position then like we did today if the game is still tight then it will be time to turn to people like Freeman to go and win it or get a point. I personally dont agree with people saying the team that finished the game would have won it because we honestly don't know I agree we looked better in the attacking 3rd when he come on but Bournemouth was tired and we really was chucking the kitchen sink at it at that point 3 strikers on and an attacking midfielder we can start games like that wilson and Frazer would have picked us out at the back if we had have started like that with quick counters. I think wilder got the balance right and had it been 0-0 when he made the changed we would have been the most likely to win it which I think will happen this season. Obviously it wasn't 0-0 when we made the changes but it really could have been we limited them to so little especially first half I think Henderson had to make one good save and then the goal other than that he had nothing to do. I think the goal was just a bit unlucky basham got drawn to the ball which egan had covered leaving Wilson unmarked. Overall good game for us a good opening game to settle the nerves for the players and the fans against a good opposition with a good home record I class that as a good point and think we was probably just about the better side we just need to make sure we take our chances.

He’s OKAY and that says it all. When we have someone like him we always get people that will defend them no matter what and will pick out every good thing they do. Often, it’s not a lot but because they’ve done a good tackle or made a pass that justifies their opinion about the player. Basically people look for any positive. Other, more talented players aren’t offered this luxury by certain fans

Lunny COULD have created 3 assists. Put Goldy in twice with long balls over the top, then whipped in a great cross from the right wing which Robinson almost got on that end of. 3 bits of undoubted quality. What more can the lad do?

I agree we looked brighter when Freeman came on, but Lunny was better than both Fleck and Norwood today.

Thought he played well. His performance seems like its under a microscope lately which i feel is a little unfair.

For example Fleck over hit at least 1 cross.

Norwood hit 2 corners to 1st man and over hit at least 1 cross.

Appreciate Norwood and Fleck have a better history but still.

The lad did well today.

Granted but give me Fleck or Norwood any day of the week
