Careful with your parking

This happened the last time we were promoted....It's bad enough parking as it is....some of us can't use public transport and have to come by car.
 
This is good news for us who live in the area. I live up the bridge at midhill road , and the paper and rubbish people throw down on match days is terrible. Hopefully they will do the same round my way.

If you are coming up the M1, is it worth coming off at the A57, parking up and taking the tram? Anyone do it? I know that there is free parking at Crystal Peaks and Halfway, but it's a half an hour ride in from there. Any free parking near the tram closer to the city?
 
Some bastard egged my car which was parked on the hill near Heeley City Farm opposite the carwash. I had heard that they may be putting restrictions on there too. That's me fooked.
 
Apparently the old Staples/Office World car park is not being 'managed' at the moment, just off the roundabout on St Marys Gate/Arundel Gate - might be worth checking out.

I’ve parked on streets at Gleadless Townend and then got the tram from the Townend stop

It always amazes me the discretionary enforcement of parking in the wider BDTBL area, up as far as, say Ponsfords. It’s as if the Council (or whoever it’s been outsourced to) turn a blind eye to some of it. 🤣🤣

Parked in the same spot within 2 mins of london road for years.

If you're that bothered, get there early and fork out a fiver for the G car park.
 
Most of the parking i use round the Lane is 2 hours maximum , how the fook are we gonna on now we,ve got V A R !!!!!!!

Nunnery Square at the bottom of the Parkway is the nearest. Two stops to Commercial Street, Fitzalan Square on Yellow Line tram. Then two stops to Sheffield College on Blue Line. Parking fee should be included in tram fare. You get tickets at the top of the car park.

If Amey/Council are still pissing about with the roadworks on Queens Road for the Palace game it will be gridlocked. Currently they have 2 lanes closed on there. Huge queue this morning on the outbound at 8am. Also looks like they're building the curb out on the corner at the lights which makes it more dangerous to go around it. Maybe they're stopping the left turn onto London Rd from Wolsley Rd ?Pedestrians can't cross safely due to crossings being disabled and large plastic blocks all the way down the middle of the road. I think it's what you lot would call a 'clusterfuck' ? :)
Didn't someone say the Parkway is closed on Palace day as well?

Driving and parking near the ground on match day is best avoided.

I have heard that for Nunnery Park and Ride you need to drive into town and back out again when you come in on the Parkway, not sure how true that is. Also, the need to change tram makes it less easy than coming in from the south. Coming from the North, it's possibly easier to park at Meadowhall and come in on the train as opposed to the tram.

Park Grange Croft is possibly a better option than Sheffield College. Distance is about the same but you can have a pint in the Farm Social Club.
 
Could always park at Lodge Moor and catch a 51.........don't be daft Benn.

There's no actual safe place to cross. I had to walk all the way to the junction of London Road/Queens Road and jump through the roadworks yesterday (my dress was too tight to scale the plastic blocks!) Thankfully I don't have to take the pram back that way.

Have they done the roadworks near the Railway yet? Haven't been down Bramall Lane in a while.

You don't have to go into town to get to Nunnery Park and Ride its well signposted. Turn right towards Derek Dooley Way just before the bottom of the Parkway. Go across the opposite lane of the Parkway and then turn immediate right as you go onto Derek Dooley Way. This will put you onto the outgoing lane. Turn left at the top back onto the Parkway and then turn first left at Knowhow and SYP Offices. Park and Ride is situated there.

Agree the two trams are an inconvenience but the roads are rammed around Park Grange Croft and I can assure you its a longer walk to the Farm Social Club than getting off at Sheffield College as my daughter lives there.

Suprised no one's been hurt yet as I've seen people on several occasions stuck in the middle of the road, where the crossing isn't working, at the junction with the school. This is what we've come to expect from Amey as the council don't monitor their work, or care about the risks they create. I was coming up through that crossing on Monday and a bloke walked straight in front of me thinking he'd got right of way as he'd seen the cars stop somewhere else! If I'd have been reading this forum on my phone at the time I'd have had a nasty dent on my bonnet 😉

No they've not started any mayhem near the railway, but they've scraped up 2 inches of tarmac further down Bramall Lane and left it for a few days. They'll probably start relaying it on the Sunday we play Palace!

Yes it is being managed. Unless they’ve very recently switched the cameras off. My mum’s had multiple fines for parking there recently when she’s gone into town thinking it was ok cos the shop’s shut down. She didn’t bother reading the signs.

That crossing on Queens Road is/was a nightmare anyway because the lights don't stay red long enough for someone to get across and impatient drivers apparently don't know what a flashing amber light means. I keep meaning to report it to Streets Ahead.
