Progress on upgrading the Lane for Premier League?

Just on those seats, on the Osborn signing video, you can see those covered up areas, there are no seats under them, so they're either getting replaced or have been sent away to have that heat treatment mentioned further up or a chemical treatment.

Can't add owt on the cricket knowledge front, but as a seasoned ale cart, I can confirm that it is the Anchor Brewery in the background way before Arnold Laver was a glint in Great Grandad Laver's eye.

I am sure Ball_Sup (Phil) will be along soon to tell us about Anchor's 9.8% rhubarb, raddish coffee and creosote porter.....

That’s just the suppository you get at the door before they let you in.

It's not impressive, it's rushed and tinpot.

Impressive would be doing the south stand rebuild and having it in there... or doing the kop refurb and putting it where it's intended to go, in the kop corner.

If you know anyone able to do that in 6 weeks please let Kevin McCabe or princey know 😂😂

I hope the seats are getting done would look a million times better the seats were starting to turn pink from the sun on John street.

The planning of the studio looks nice too if they have forged in steel and the badge on it

Good god the lane will be looking grand

Think they'll be getting sorted, why take them out otherwise?

The Pukka Pie corner I think they should replace too because they're just pink. The Kop is looking a bit faded now too.

Suppose it'll be full mostly so it won't matter but it'd be nice.

I sometimes wonder if it'd look odd if the made the Pukka Pie corner red white and black, because white and black fade better than red, so if they just had a middle section in red, with a one or two chair pinstripe, and then white, it'd be easier to maintain the appearance.

Suppose that's pointless really though because I imagine it'll be the first thing to go in any future redevelopment of the Kop.

Agreed it’s looked pink for a few years just look at the comparison between south and job street

Remember Sunderland last season has to replace thousands of seats as the sun had faded the colour on there seats.

Glad I’ll be sitting on red not pink seats

Well you see, there's the rub. It should have been done last year not rushed through at the eleventh hour.

😂 😂:rolleyes::(

We had no money and why would we build an extra 10,000 seats when we were in the champ .

If we stay up the Kop will get done , we don’t need the south stand doing 43/44k seats is way too much and it would look daft like Leeds horrible stand

It's called faith and it's called ambition.

I refer the honourable forum member to the answer I gave moments earlier.

Why would we build a 45k ground when we get 25k in the championship

We didn’t have any ambition in previous seasons if we stay up and get a new owner we will hopefully redo the ground

This is a different League to the last ones we were in. Last time we had 99.5 home capacity of 30000, now we would be looking at 40K plus.

I've recently been to a few places where urinals have been replaced with unisex toilets. There's always a queue. The simple fact that men take less time to piss, and are happy to share a urinal, seems to be lost on some people. If men had a urinal to piss in there wouldn't be men queuing.

Piss on the floor, they'll soon stick a urinal in

This is the type of small minded thinking that has held our club back for decades.

No mate been a realist I’d much rather have the lane rocking at 35k than have 43/44 and loads of empty seats.

It would be embarrassing having 20k Empty seats if we go back down which let’s be right is where we have been for the past 25 years apart form 2006

There’s no reason why a well designed unisex toilet can’t contain urinals. It’s just poor design and bad thinking.

I think Cardiff have a good system, they have that tier on top for Wales, it's got red seats rather than blue, and probably won't even appear on the ticketing site this season.

If we put a second tier on the South, just don't allow season tickets in it, and then you can fill the rest first.

For me, an empty tier in the gods looks better than a half empty stand with too many seats.

Exactly so lets prepare for our inevitable relegation Chris Wilder shouldn't have bothered getting promotion we should know our place and settle for second best, sell our best players every year to survive. That about covers it eh ? Jesus wept. Does the Premier League and actually achieving something really scare you that much? Little wonder that there are pig fans out there who still think they are the top club in Sheffield, if they were in our shoes they would be planning a 60,000 seat stadium.

Once the old pavilion is gone there are rumours a new hotel will be constructed.

See the source image
What a tragedy that we ripped down the pavilion for a car park and the Brutalist architecture of the South Stand . That's progress for you.🙁

The brutalist South Stand is great in its own right. At least it is somewhere underneath the splatterfest of hoardings and misguided signage. :(

Let’s not run before we can walk the only reason there’s planning for the south stand is because of the World Cup bid.

If we somehow get new owners who add ambitious like wolves/Leicester and stay in the prem like a wolves then yeah.

But every penny should be spent on keeping us there.

Build the kop first that actually needs doing
